YEAR 5 IMMERSION
It was a beautiful day for the Year 5 learners as they celebrated Greek Day. When they arrived, the
students were excited as they talked about Greek gods and goddesses, eagerly discussing their fa-
vourite myths and legends. They even took turns writing their names in Greek letters, feeling con-
nected to the ancient culture.
As the day went on, the students had the opportunity to sample some traditional Greek food, sa-
vouring the flavours of Greek salad, Greek yoghurt, wine, etc. They marvelled at the intricate
details of Greek artefacts, from pottery to statues, learning about their historical importance and
significance. Moreover, of course, they dressed the part in flowing tunics and laurel wreaths, em-
bracing the spirit of the ancient Greeks as they celebrated and learned more about this fascinating
culture.
Ultimately, as the day drew close, the students reflected on all they had experienced and discovered
during Greek Day. They left with a newfound appreciation for Greece’s rich history and traditions,
eager to delve deeper into this captivating world that had captured their imaginations. The cele-
bration had been a great success, sparking a love for learning and exploration that would stay with
them for years.
