Good day everyone. My name is Mrs.

Zurfatu Damina, fondly known as

“Grandma of the Regent School.” It is

truly an honour to share a little about

my journey here. I began working at

The Regent School on the 17th of Sep-

tember, 2000, with just 23 children in the

Early Years Department, alongside 17 staff

members and Miss Rachel Firth as our Co-

ordinator. The school officially opened on the 6th of January,

2001, under the leadership of Miss Mariana Bell, with 185 chil-

dren enrolled. Since then, the Regent School has continued to

grow through teamwork and dedication. One of our memora-

ble milestones was the 10th anniversary in 2010, when, under V

Mr. Robinson’s leadership, we buried a Time Capsule—set to be

opened today, at our 25th anniversary. To God be the glory. I

still remember our very first graduating class of just five pupils:

Amira, Mary, Junior, Aliyu, and Aisha. Today, I am proud to have

witnessed the school’s many successes, including achieving

“Outstanding” in 2023, during the time of Mr. Joe Labuschagne. I

pray for even greater accomplishments in the years ahead. As I

reflect on my time here, I will carry with me the love, unity, care,
