Managing Food

                      Allergies

The primary way to manage food aller-
gies is to avoid allergens. Here are the
      key steps::

      1. Read Food Labels: Carefully check ingredi-
ent lists on food packaging for known aller-
      gens.

      2. Inform Others: Let friends, family, and
teachers know about the allergy to avoid ac-
      cidental exposure.

      3. Practise Safe Eating: If dining out, inform
the restaurant staff of your allergy and con-
firm the ingredients used in dishes.

      4. Carry Emergency Medication: Individuals
at risk of severe reactions should always car-
ry an epinephrine auto-injector (such as an
EpiPen) and know how to use it in case of an
      emergency.

      5. Seek Medical Advice: Regular consultations
with a healthcare provider can help manage

      allergies and provide personalised advice.

Food allergies can be managed effectively
      through awareness, avoidance, and readiness
to treat symptoms if they arise. With proper
care, individuals with food allergies can lead
healthy, active lives while minimising risk.
