PROGRAM SURVEI POPULASI PRIMATE
The Primate Population Survey Programme

Unit Primat menjalankan survei taburan dan populasi Primat di kawasan perlindungan Jabatan
bermula pada Mac sehingga November 2020. Sebanyak 5 kawasan perlindungan Jabatan iaitu Taman
Negara Pahang, Kuala Tahan, Rezab Hidupan Liar Sungkai, Rezab Hidupan Liar Krau - Lembah Klau,
Bukit Rengit dan Rezab Hidupan Liar Sungai Dusun telah dipilih sebagai lokasi survei. Survei juga di
habitat berkepentingan seperti di Genting Highlands. Sebanyak 7 spesies di bawah Order Primat telah
direkodkan dan anggaran cerapan bagi setiap spesies adalah seperti berikut; Hylobates lar (32),
Macaca fascicularis (28), Presbytis siamensis (23), Symphalangus syndactylus (21), Macaca
nemestrina (19), Trachypithecus obscurus (7) dan Nycticebus coucang (5).

The Primate Unit conducted a survey of the distribution and population of Primates in the
Department's protected areas from March to November 2020. A total of 4 Department’s protected
areas namely Pahang National Park, Kuala Tahan, Sungkai Wildlife Reserve, Krau Wildlife Reserve -
Lembah Klau and Bukit Rengit were selected as survey locations. As well as the addition of two survey
locations in the Sungai Dusun Wildlife Reserve and important habitats such as in Genting Highlands.
A total of 7 species under the Primate Order have been recorded and the observation estimates for
each species are as follows: Hylobates lar (32), Macaca fascicularis (28), Presbytis siamensis (23),
Symphalangus syndactylus (21), Macaca nemestrina (19), Trachypithecus obscurus (7) and Nycticebus
coucang (5).
