After her Training she was posted to the Epidemiological Division of the
Public Health Directorate as a Senior Consultant.
She was the Chairperson of the National Task Force on Control of Cholera
during the severe outbreak of Cholera in the country.
She was the Chairperson of the National Task Force on Disaster
Preparedness and Response.
She was the Vice Chairman of the National Task Force on Disease
Surveillance and Notification and the Control of Epidemics. She, in
conjunction with Professor A.B.O.O. Oyediran -the Chairman of the Task
Force, Professor Oyewale Tomori and Dr O. O. Ojo established the Disease
Surveillance and Notification System in Nigeria and Co - authored the book
on the operation of the system. They also established the system of
Control of Epidemics in Nigeria and Co- authored its book.
She was in charge of the National Task Force on Control and Prevention of
Non- Communicable Diseases in Nigeria and conducted the National Survey
to determine the normal blood pressure range of the Nigerian citizenry.
She represented Nigeria on several special assignments including being its
representative on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Sponsored
Technical Committees on Public Health of the Developing Countries from
1985 – 1987. among others.
She later became the Chief Consultant Epidemiologist and Deputy Director
of the Epidemiological Division of the Public Health.
She was later posted to the Port Health Services where she was promoted
to the Director in charge of Port Health Services of the Primary Health
Care and Disease Control Department. She retired in 2003 after
meritoriously serving the government.
Following her retirement from the Civil Service she spent some time
travelling around the world, visiting her children and grandchildren before
returning to Festac where she took up consulting jobs with various private
medical clinics including the Church of Pentecost Medical clinic.
In 2015 she joined the Amuwo Odofin Local Government and worked in the
Primary Health Care Centre and continued to consult there on a part-time
basis until her demise.
She was married to the late Lawyer Samuel Abayomi Asagba (of blessed
memory), and their marriage was blessed with five boys.
She lived an active Christian life worthy of emulation. She was an active
member of the Church societies including the Morning Star Society of All
Saints Church, Yaba.
