Why should you listen to this man? If you have never heard about
him, he was like one of the richest men in the world more than 100
years ago. He did that with no formal education, no inheritance, no
favourable circumstances early in life. He started working in the
mines as a 13-year-old boy as soon as they landed in America
from Scotland. His family relocated to seek greener pasture in the
US. He was ecstatic to get a job as a messenger. You know how
bad his previous job was to be so happy about the job as a
messenger. Well, this was his opportunity because a generous
rich man gave all the messengers access to his library and Andrew
grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He read voraciously that
he transformed his mind from that of a poor labourer to the person
capable of accumulating so much wealth. When Andrew died, they
found a note in his drawer that he wrote at the age of nineteen
which said, ‘I would spend half my life accumulating a lot of wealth
and spend the remaining half giving it all away’. True to his word,
he sold his company for 500million dollars then which in today’s
