Country music star ELLINOR SPRINGSTRIKE is all set to strike at the heart with her brand new single, WHAT’S YOUR NAME, which drops on all platforms on Christmas Eve. The track
- written by Emi Sunshine, Alisha Hamilton, Vicky McGehee, and Kyle Jacobs - sees the Swedish songstress in a reflective mood as she ponders one of love’s most personal yet always universal questions.
With Grammy nominated producer JIM-
MY RITCHEY at the helm, What’s Your Name achieves the perfect balance of showcasing the controlled, measured passion of Ellinor’s pow- erful voice, married with the task of taking on a sensitive subject matter as old as time and as delicate as a dream; where oh where, out there in the great wide world, is ‘the one’...and what is their name?
What’s Your Name will become the third single from Ellinor’s forthcoming EP, now scheduled for release in 2021 after events of this year called for a change of plan in that regard. From the moment Ellinor first heard it, she knew the song was something special just by how it made her feel. And she knew that feeling was one listeners would be able to relate to just as easily...
“This song really means a lot to me, and I think it will touch a lot of people out there in the same way and for the same reasons. It’s about searching for that special person, the one that you’ve always dreamed of sharing your life with. But the thing is, you never know where
or when in your life that the universe or des- tiny has planned for you to meet that person. And of course, you can never know their name until you finally meet them, too. But you always believe in your heart that you will know from the very first moment that you do finally meet them, that they are ‘the one.’”
What’s Your Name is produced by Nashville based Jimmy Ritchey, also a noted songwriter having written for George Strait, Terri Clark, and Mark Chesnutt, Kellie Pickler, Trace Adkins, and Clay Walker to name but a few. Ritchey’s decision to work with Springstrike is no sur- prise, as he’s certainly a man who knows talent when he hears it. He has previously been cen- tral to the discovery and career development of
stars such as Jake Owen and William Michael Morgan, producing Morgan’s massive 2017 #1 hit, I Met A Girl,
which spent 58 weeks at radio and became the longest running song to hit the top-spot in Mediabase/Aircheck history at 49 weeks.
Ritchey’s studio credits also number such leg- endary figures as Vince Gill, Lee Ann Womack, and Bobby Bare, and Springstrike is fulsome in her praise for what his talents have brought to this release...
“My absolute favourite part of this song is the guitar solo. When Jimmy sent me that to listen to, I felt like what he was playing was some- how answering what I was singing in the lyrics. There’s something that’s just magical about his production of this whole song. It’s one of my favourites on my EP that’s coming out next year, it really is. And I hope everybody is going to love it as much as I do!”
Ellinor’s most recent singles, which were last August’s Never Too Late (which has already racked up 600,000 spins globally), and The Fire from March of this year (which has now clocked up in excess of 500,000 streams and spins worldwide), will also feature on her 2021 EP.
