Ya got the Gig.....
....do you have the right colour?
Learning about the importance of Colour and it’s relation to Musician’s SET for Gigs.
A good SET may be quite important for a New Artist, and yes there are surely many Set Directors, especially for the new artists. It is a real capture in most circumstances. In the Battle of the Sexes, and so much more! Have you ever seen a colour, and realized that you spent more time just looking around a web- site that you happened on? It may be because a dominant colour has caputred your attention, and the information was average...might mean it is a new colour love for you also.
Colour could also brighten your day! This may be in the back of your mind, and one is not aware of it, but you just seem lighter somehow when colour is around you. Most often it is a pleasing sensation that may give you relaxation, or a heightened sense of pleasure. For me colour is an attraction, and I feel joy in a place and time that surprises me...I WANT to look!
What colour attracts the human eye most?
The green colour was created by analyzing the way the rods and cones in our eyes are stimulated by different wavelengths of light. The company found that the human eye is most sensitive to light at a wavelength of 555 nanometers—a bright green.
Which Colour attracts the most?
Red is the colour of power. It gets people’s attention and it holds it, which is why it’s the most popular colour for marketing. Just don’t overdo it! When you want to be viewed as trustworthy and cool, blue is the colour for you.
Yellow is the colour of sunshine. It’s associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
Lavender: A lavender flower represents beauty, solitude and admiration. The lavender flowers are a token of grace, refinement and elegance. The lavender blossoms convey a message of a feminine beauty. Purple: This colour is associ- ated with the royalty and ceremony.
Throughout history, red has been the colour of passion, romance, and sexual energy. Red lips and blushed cheeks stimulate arousal. A red dress attracts at- tention and captures the imagination.
So for today we now know that Colour is something to pay attention to, and might change your busy day into just a time snag, moodless of course because often colour is a wonder!
Why is Creative Direction important?
The Creative Director’s job is, arguably, more critical today than it ever has been. Why? Because the predominant methods of music discovery online are visual: Instagram + YouTube. If you hear a song on a playlist, radio or on TV, the first places you go (at least in the US) are Instagram and YouTube. Without visuals, you’re stripping the listener of clues as to why they should take a chance on your music.
Your visuals enhance the listening experience, both by guiding the listener to what they should expect from the artist and facilitating memory recall because visual memory is stronger than audible — making sure the journey doesn’t start and stop on a playlist.
