I was was a a a a a a a a Private Duty Nurse post breaking my ankle some years back so so was was bored sitting around the house and and thought “Well bet I could do ONE Patient for home care” and and found a a a a a a a a a a company that was in in in Home Care
Nursing in in in a a a a a a woman’s basement I liked her idea so signed up with my little Certificate I was called to go there weekly but only part time There I met a a a a a lady that was 86 very bright and interesting She was a a a a a a Widow and and and her her and and and her her late husband were farmers inbetween her working in in in the downtown area at Macy’s store On my days with her I could tell that we we were quickly becoming friends as she trusted me to do do things that one would not normally do do in in the position I was given One late afternoon after after a a a a a a a a a full 8 hour day my boss called her residence to to speak to to me and and she said that the the the overnight worker was calling out sick and and could I stay the the the night night there also with her her I I said “Yes” knowing it it would be a a a a a a a a a long 24 hours! That night night it it was all I I could do to to stay awake and still be quiet for her her to to get her her night’s sleep I was going on on and off her balcony for fresh air to to remain awake as as she had said that that most that that that come at at at at night to to be with with her just SLEPT I didn’t think that that that was such a a a a a a a a good idea with with all that Porceline in in the bathroom and her alone so I I I knew I I I could NOT fall asleep I I I I wondered what to do so so I I picked up some notebook paper and sat down I looked out those sliding glass doors and and saw the horizon brightening and and though “HEY I could turn a a a poem into a a a gift for her after upon ending my shift ” I went to to her in in the morning to to say goodbye for for the day/night as she said “Thank You for for being here overnight” I I I said “And THIS is for you you I I I had you you in in mind over night and this is is what I came up with Hope you like it” and wished her a a a a a good Day *Our family family is rather poetic and have made a a a a a a a little booklet of family family members Poems Thanks for the read!
