The Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MS-MIS)
program is designed to prepare students for careers in the analysis,
design, implementation, and management of information systems and
information technology. The program, which consists of 36 semester
credit hours, offers three tracks: Information Systems Management,
Digital Business and Knowledge Management, Information Security
Management, and one concentration in Information Assurance. For the
three tracks, the program requires 15 credit hours of core courses, 6
credit hours of research or practicum courses, and 15 credit hours of
elective courses; for the Information Assurance concentration, the
program requires 9 credit hours of foundation courses, 18 credit hours
of core courses, and 9 credit hours of elective courses.
Admission Requirements
Students must submit evidence of completion of a bachelor’s degree in
business, management, computer information systems, computer
science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution,
have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, and satisfy other general
admission requirements established by the Graduate School. The
undergraduate degree coursework should include: College Algebra,
Statistics or Quantitative Methods, Programming Language,
Management, and Computer Applications.
Students who do not meet all of the prerequisite conditions may be
granted conditional admission and may be required to complete some
or all of the following prerequisite courses (NOT included in the degree
program requirements):
