• Currently, there are 30 computers units in the library, all
connected to the Internet and distributed respectively in

the following sections: 18 computer units in the ELibrary
section, 7 units with printers for librarians and staff, 4

units for the operations (database and Online Public
Access Catalog) of My Sophia, the integrated library

management system and 1 for STARBOOKS (Science
and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly
Operated KioskS, an interactive kiosk system developed

by the Science and Technology Information Institute of
the Department of Science and Technology)

• The actual internet speed is around 83 mbps from the
Internet Account Plan of up to 150Mbps enabling a
maximum of 200 users that can be accommodated
simultaneously inside the library. The clients have an
uptime limit of 2-5 hours per day with a rate limit of up to
5mbps, a speed which is ideal for researching and
accessing, even downloading of full-text articles.

• Moreover, the 2023 Project Procurement Management

Plan (PPMP), an important guide document of the library
includes equipment and facilities that will strengthen the

ICT infrastructure in the library. Computers with high
hardware specifications for better speed and computing

power were also procured while others are still on
process for procurement such as barcodes, LAN router,

and CCTV cameras.
