Introduction
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in Isabela State University-Echague
campus was established in 2009. It gained its Government Recognition last February 5, 2010 and
Certificate of Program Compliance from Commission on Higher Education last August 4, 2014. It
is a four year degree implementing the CMO 15 s. 2017. The program caters to aspiring nursing
students coming from surrounding provinces like Ifugao, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan
and Isabela. It a very attractive program because of its affordability since the University is
implementing RA 10931 (Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education). The University is
located between two cities, Santiago City and Cauayan City, giving the College an opportunity to
affiliate to various hospitals and thereby giving the students an excellent Related Learning
Experience opportunity. The pool of experts that handle different subjects in the university
provides a good training for the students in different fields. Major Subjects are handled by
nurse clinicians, giving them an experience based lecture and RLE.

I.Objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

In line with the Isabela State University’s vision and mission, the College of Nursing is
tasked to demonstrate professional competencies in safe and quality care, management of
resource and environment, health education, legal responsibility, personal and professional
development, quality improvement, record management, communication, collaboration, and
team work, ethico-moral responsibility and development of the students aesthetic and cultural
values. Conduct and utilize research findings in nursing practice in various settings

II.Adequate and Relevant Projects/Activities to Achieve Objectives
In order to attain the set objectives for the program, adequate and relevant activities were
undertaken. These activities are the following:
A. Review and Revision of Curriculum/Program of Studies

Participative planning is attended by stakeholders from the administration,
faculty, students, alumni and industry sector representative during regular curriculum planning.
The publication in Official Gazette of the CMO 15 s 2017 on May 8, 2017 compelled the College
of Nursing in ISU Echague to adapt the said CMO. The College modified the course code of the
subjects offered but all the course title and course contents are retained. After laying out the
courses, we submitted the proposed adaption to the curriculum to the CHED RO2 and was content
noted October 18, 2021. There were three enhancement subjects which are included in all courses
of Isabel State University and was approved by BOR No. 89 s.2018. These subjects are Climate
Change and Disaster Risk Management (2 units), Entrepreneurial management (2 Units),
Creative and Critical Thinking (2 Units). These subjects went through the process of consultation
with stakeholders and were added to create awareness to all graduates about current trends and help
them adapt to changes in the society. In the case of our current curriculum, we simply adapted the
prescribed curriculum and submitted to CHED for Content Notation.
