Area V1:
EXTENSION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
RECOMMENDATION
4. Conduct an impact assessment study and prepare an extensive portfolio with appropriate
photos, videos, minutes of the meetings with the different stakeholders, attendance, MOA
with the community, and other vital proofs showing the development and sustainability of
the extension program.
The Isabela State University College of Nursing-Echague Campus launched these programs in
the belief that we have been given the opportunity to serve the community and its people.
Through the academe, armed with the knowledge and skills, we as the faculty members,
have presented ourselves as the bridge that link the community people and the Local
Government Unit through the Rural Health Unit.
Through the years, we have seen how the community stood over time, making its effort in
attaining the best health status as possible. One of the programs that we have seen its
development, is the “Programang Bantay Presyon”. From the baseline data, presented below,
we have seen its impact to the lives of the people, having been monitored and evaluated
now and then, as well as the provision of supplemental health education, the community
have established their own system, and they are able to sustain this program through the
guidance of the Nurse assigned in the community, in partnership with the Barangay Health
Workers.
We then conclude that this program have attained its goals, but the work is not yet done. We
still need further monitoring and continue the provision of health teachings especially for the
newly diagnosed individuals, as well as those who belong to the high risk group.
