Xinyi District ｜ Xiangshan Park
Forty Four South Village

Xiangshan Park is close to the Xinyi
Project Area. It is one of the rare location
where Taipei tree frogs can be found in Taipei.
In order to keep tree frogs continuing to
inhabit in Xiangshan Park, the Taipei Parks
and Street Lights Office also launched a
restoration program to create an ecological
environment that conserves tree frogs. A
“P lay for all” playground filled with
specialties and based on the theme of tree
frogs was built here.

After the National Government
retreated to Taiwan, the government
built the South Village, The East
Village and The West Village for
the employees of the arsenal and
their family to reside. With the
development of the Xinyi Project
Area and the remodel of the
villages, the Forty-Four South
V illage was preser ved as a
historical building showcasing
culture about residences of the
military and their family. There
is a cultural creative market
coming here on the holiday.
