70th Birthday Celebrated At Lowry Park
Mr. Walter Robinson, Sr. celebrated his 70th birthday with family and friends at Lowry Park. In addition to lots of birthday food, there were many games played. The honoree, Walt, won a game of horse shoe. His two granddaughters won the hula-hoop contest. (Photos by Frederick Harris)

24th Annual Gourmet Gents Fundraiser: ‘ A Culinary Fanfare’

The 24th Annual Gourmet Gents Fundraiser: “A Culi- nary Fanfare” will be held on Sunday, June 26 at St. Lawrence Parish Catholic Church – Higgins Hall, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, from 2:30 p. m. – 4:30 p. m. Mark Nash, small business and political consultant, will serve as the 24th Annual Gourmet Gents Honorary Chair and Anddrikk Fra- zier, Managing Partner of Integral Energy, will guide the program as the Master of Ceremony.
“It is an honor and a priv- ilege to be able to assist the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. in their efforts to ‘give back’ to this community, and to help young women to advance their education,” stated Mark Nash.
The purpose of this affair is to raise funds for programs and scholarship assistance to young women in the Tampa Bay Area who are pursuing a secondary education. The success garnered from the
past 24 years is due to the combined efforts of the many men in the Tampa Bay com- munity, local political leaders and Corporate Sponsors.
This much-anticipated event usually hosts over 300 patrons who will feast on an assortment of appetizers, side dishes, entrees and desserts prepared by 150 of Tampa’s finest “Gents.” Tick- ets are $35.00 for adults and $15.00 for children.
The Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women is a non- profit, voluntary organiza- tion that advocates on behalf of women of color through national and local actions and strategic alliances which promote NC100BW national and international agenda on leadership devel- opment and gender equity in health, education and eco- nomic development.
