Bicyclist Shot While Riding
Riverview Woman Shot After Answering Door
Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s deputies report that at 6:31 p. m. Sunday, Demetrius Simmons, 24, was riding his bicycle in the area of Camden Field and Falkenburg Road when he was confronted by two Black males.
Deputies said the two sus-
pects fired several shots at Simmons, striking him at least twice. They then fled on foot from the scene.
Detectives said at this time, it does not appear that the shooting was random and the victim told them he knows the suspects.
Simmons was trans- ported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condi- tion.
The only description re- leased on the suspects is that they were both Black males and one of them was wearing a black hoodie.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Saturday at 12;26 a. m., An- gela Morales, 37, was at home with her twin 9-year-olds and her husband when she heard a knock at the front door.
After several knocks, Morales went to the door, opened it, and several shots were fired, striking her multi- ple times. The suspect fled in what has been described as a 4- door dark colored sedan. There could possibly have been more than one shooter as detectives have recovered two different type weapon casings.
Morales was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The shooting suspect is de- scribed as a Black male wear- ing something across his face and possibly has tattoos.

Investigators also said it ap- pears this was not a random act.

Teenagers In Custody For Burglary Of Businesses
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday at 12:45 a.m. at 3803 Corporex Park Drive, two suspects made forced entry into Joffrey’s Coffee shop using a hammer to smash the window.
The suspects went inside and damaged a vending ma- chine, removing an unknown amount of candy. The sus- pects also reportedly smashed a second window at the coffee shop and made
their way inside to an office desk and smash a computer. They then went to the
PharmScript Pharmacy, 3801 Corporex Park Drive, Suite #115, and climbed an unse- cured fire ladder to the roof of the building. While on the roof, an employee heard the noises and later saw the duo on video surveillance near her vehicle that was later found to have been damaged.
Deputies in the area were able to locate one of the sus-
pects, Joshua Wooten, 17, who still had candy in his pockets. The second suspect, Brian Manring, 14, was also located and arrested. Both were charged with felony criminal mischief, burglary of a business, bur- glary of a conveyance, and being in possession of bur- glary tools.
Deputies said the amount of damage caused by the teenagers is estimated to be in excess of $8,000.
Business Owner Charged With Selling Cocaine
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Special Inves- tigations Division detectives concluded a narcotics inves- tigation into Victor Ce- deno, 43.
Cedeno was reportedly selling powder cocaine from Cedeno Sportswear, 4025 West Waters Avenue.
Cedeno is a convicted felon who was released from prison in 2011 after his arrest

in a trafficking case. A small amount of powder cocaine (13.6 grams) and a loaded handgun was found in Ce- deno’s pocket.
Cedeno was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of co- caine, and controlled sub- stance within 1,000 feet of a convenience store.
Woman Charged With DUI After Rear Ending Patrol Vehicle
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Friday at 9 p.m., a pair of deputies were traveling north on U. S. 301 and stopped in the outside lane adjacent to a third deputy who was parked on the shoulder on a traffic stop.
Deputy Jernigan was driving and activated his bar light prior to stopping. While stopped, they were struck from behind by a blue vehicle driven by Gertrude Horton-Wade.
Wade, 53, did not apply her brakes before striking the patrol car, and deputies said she appeared to be impaired.

arrested and charged with DUI. She refused to provide a breath sample and no one was injured in the crash.

Man Found Shot To Death In His Front Yard
Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a homicide after a Bartow man was found shot to death in his front yard last Wednesday.
Aundra Gammons 56, was found in the yard at 4880 Hollingsworth Road.
Gammons lived at the ad- dress with his former wife, Sherri Gammons, 44. Sherri was arrested at the res- idence for possession of co- caine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is being held in jail on a bond of $2,000.
