Courthouse Building To Be Named For Retired Clerk Of Court
Popular DJ Dies Following Illness
Ceremony will take place Thursday morn- ing, 10 a. m.
Hillsborough County commissioners agreed unan- imously back in February to rename the court building lo- cated at 419 N. Pierce Street in Tampa, in honor of former Hillsborough County Clerk of Court, the Honorable Pat Frank, who retired in January at the age of 91. The building is where Clerk Frank served as a school board member and where

the legislative delegation met during her terms in office. The building now houses Of- ficial Records and is also where the Clerk’s office holds civil marriage ceremonies.
Commissioner Harry Cohen, who served as legal counsel to the Clerk’s office before his election in No- vember, suggested the honor.
A ceremony for the re- naming will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, 10 a. m., at the front en- trance of the building.

A popular Tampa DJ died recently following a brief ill- ness. Mr. Trent Brown was 61-years-old.
Mr. Brown was known as “Teddy Bear,” and was skilled as a disc jockey throughout Tampa Bay and South Florida.
He attended the public schools of Brevard and Hills- borough Counties. After relo- cating to Tampa with his family, Mr. Brown gradu- ated from Plant High School in 1977. He continued his ed- ucation at Central State Uni- versity, in Wilberforce, Ohio, on a football scholarship.
He relocated to Chicago, Illinois and became a found- ing member of The Rough Rider Personal Security Com- pany. The company provided security for numerous R & B Stars and professional ath- letes.
Mr. Brown returned to Florida in 1991 and launched his career as a DJ.

Mr. Brown is survived by his father, Enoch Brown, his brothers, and numerous other family mem- bers.
Funeral Services for Mr. Brown will be held on Satur- day, October 16th at Greater New Salem P. B. Church. Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrange- ments. (SEE FUNERAL PAGE).
Installation Planned For Pastor Of New Palm River COGIC
On July 23, 2021, Bishop Anthony W. Gilyard (South- western Florida COGIC Juris- dictional Prelate) appointed Elder CJ Fowler as Pastor- Designate of The New Palm River Church of God in Christ. Elder CJ Fowler is the fourth Pastor in succession following in the footsteps of his father, the late Pastor Willie L. Fowler, Jr. As a son of the house, Elder Fowler contin- ues the rich legacy and history of the church. The Installation service will be held Saturday, October 23rd, 11 a. m. at Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ. Registration is re- quired. (See advertisement in this edition)

ther, Pastor Fowler, Jr., and his mother, the late, Mother Mae Helen Fowler. Reared in his local church, The New Palm River Church of God in
Christ, he served in various de- partments and capacities. It was at his local church where he discerned his sense of call, an- swered the call, and developed in his giftings.
Elder Fowler is described as a charismatic, influential thought leader, culturalist, and humanitarian. As a gifted com- municator, his message of in- spiration and hope transcends racial, political, and denomina- tional barriers and back- grounds. Earmarked for his prophetic insight and theologi- cal prowess, Elder Fowler travels the country, informing, inspiring, and impacting the masses with the gospel of grace and life transformation in Christ.
Professionally, Elder Fowler is a versatile profes- sional with a wealth of experi- ence in both operational and account management. Known for his exceptional ability to solve complex, analytical, budg- etary concerns in fast-paced en- vironments has earned him multiple promotions and com- mendations.
Elder Fowler currently serves as the Pastor-Designate at The New Palm River Church of God in Christ in Tampa. A lifelong student, Elder Fowler is set to graduate with his Master of Arts in Christian Ministries, Spring of 2022 from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. As a passionate writer, Elder Fowler is set to release his first book entitled Mastermind: Maximize Your Life Through Mastering Your Thoughts fall of this year. He is happily married to the lovely Diamond Charnea’ Griffith of Houston, Texas.
