Man Injured After
Walking In Front
Of Police Car
An unidentified man was transported to a local hospital after being involved in a traffic accident. It took place shortly after 6 a.m., Monday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unmarked Hillsborough County Sheriff’s vehicle was traveling north- bound on Nebraska Avenue, south of Lambright Street, when a 45-year-old Tampa man walked into the path of the vehicle. The man was not in a crosswalk, police said.
As a result, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who suf- fered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospi- tal. The pedestrian remains hospitalized in critical condi- tion.
The identification of the driver or any additional infor- mation on the pedestrian has not been released. The investi- gation is continuing.
