Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden an- nounced his resignation Monday in the wake of the release of a string of prior emails that offended female referees, criticized the draft- ing of a gay football player, denounced national anthem protests, used racially charged language, and la- beled President Joe Biden a "p****," according to a re- port.

The 2002 Super Bowl champion also called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a "fa****" and a "clueless anti-football p****."
Gruden also wrote that Goodell shouldn't have pressured the then St. Louis Rams to draft "queers," a supposed reference to Michael Sam, an openly gay player selected in the 2014 Draft.

Southwest Airlines canceled several hundred flights on Monday as it worked to re- solve the problems that led it to strike more than a quarter of its scheduled flights over the weekend.
Over 1,800 Southwest flights were canceled on Saturday and Sunday, accounting for more than 28 percent of its weekend schedule, according to FlightAware, a tracking service. By late afternoon on Monday, Southwest had can- celed about 10 percent of the flights scheduled for the day, just over 360 flights. About a
third of its flights were delayed 15 minutes or more.
The cancellations wreaked havoc on travel plans for thou- sands of passengers, many of whom vented their frustra- tions on social media. At least some were trying to make it to the Boston Marathon, which was canceled last year and de- layed by six months this year. Southwest blamed the cancel- lations on several causes, in- cluding problems with the weather and air traffic control on Friday and an inability to get flight crews and planes to where they were needed.
Trump Admin Officials Who Defy January 6 Committee's Subpoenas
Rep. Adam Schiff (D- CA), who is a member of the Jan. 6 committee, announced this weekend that the com- mittee is "prepared to go for- ward and urge the Justice Department" to prosecute anyone who refuses to comply with their subpoenas.
Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, Dan Scavino, and Kash Patel -- all former advisers and aides to Donald Trump during his presidency -- have defied subpoenas sent to them by the committee.

Schiff told CBS News that he wants to "make sure that these witnesses come in and testify," as it is their "lawful duty."
Schiff also praised the Biden administration for "not asserting executive privi- lege" over documents from the Trump administration that are key pieces of evidence regarding the Capitol riot. He added that the documents will be turned over "very soon," and that he applauds the ad- ministration for "not trying, because it's protecting its own prerogative, to deprive the American people of the full facts. So hats off to the ad- ministration."

Handling Of COVID-19 Vaccine:
'I'm A Firm Believer In Science'
Michael Jordan is firmly siding with the NBA in a pre- season marked by controversy around players' hesitance or outright refusal to get vacci- nated.
The Charlotte Hornets owner and Chicago Bulls leg- end addressed the league's COVID-19 protocols during an interview with Craig Melvin on NBC's "TODAY" on Mon- day. When discussing the NBA's contenders this year, Jordan stressed the impor- tance of staying healthy.
That led to the following question and answer:
Melvin: You mentioned staying healthy and the COVID vaccine. Are you at all concerned about the proto- cols?
Jordan: Not at all. Not at all. I am total in unison with

the league. And I think every- body, you know, has been speaking about the vaccina- tions. And, you know, I'm a firm believer in science and, you know, I'm going to stick with that and hopefully every- body abides by whatever the league sets the rules. I think once everybody buys in, we're going to be fine.”s
