A star of the OWN series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” has been charged by federal au- thorities in an alleged murder- for-hire plot against his 18-year-old nephew.
James Timothy Norman, 41, who appeared on the real- ity series about the family- owned restaurant, was charged with conspiracy to use interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a mur- der-for-hire plot with an exotic dancer named Terica Ellis, according to a federal com- plaint summarized in a press release from the U. S. Attor- ney's Office in Missouri.
Norman's nephew Andre Montgomery was shot and killed on March 14, 2016. Ac- cording to the release, Nor- man is accused of obtaining a $450,000 life insurance policy on his nephew, which listed himself as the sole beneficiary. After doing so, Norman and the exotic dancer allegedly traveled to St. Louis, Mo., sep- arately. Montgomery was in St. Louis at the time.
On March 14, Norman and Ellis activated temporary phones that they used to com- municate with each other throughout the day. Ellis also used the phone to communi- cate with Montgomery to ob- tain his location in the city.

In the days following Mont- gomery’s murder, Norman placed $9,000 in cash to vari- ous bank accounts in which Ellis had access. People re- ports that the dancer had a negative balance on her ac- count prior to March 14.

viewers. Perry’s selection harkens back to the early years of the Governors Award when it was given to top entertainers, in- cluding Johnny Carson, Bob Hope and Lucille Ball. Over the last three decades, the stat- uette had been handed out largely to TV shows and net- works. No Governors Award was
given out last year; the previous four went to Star Trek, ITVS, American Idol and A+E Net- works.
The Governors Award’s pres- entation to an A-list star is eyed to create a highlight during the primetime ceremony. Perry de- livered one of the most memo- rable and rousing award show speeches when he accepted the BET Ultimate Icon Award last year.
A self-made actor, writer, pro- ducer, director and philanthro- pist, Perry is behind 22 feature films, over 20 stage plays, 13 tel- evision shows, two bestselling books and the sprawling Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Geor- gia. Perry’s entertainment en- terprise has generated more than $2 billion to date.
