Prince Hall Shriners Women’s Auxiliary To Gather In Tampa For Convention
Convening the week of Au- gust 12-18, 2016, men of the Imperial Council, Ancient Egyptian Order of the Noble and Mystic Shrine, Incorpo- rated(A.E.A.O.N.M.S.)and women of its female auxiliary, the Imperial Court Daughters, will travel from all over the world to attend the 123rd An- nual Imperial Council Ses- sion/105th Annual Imperial Court Session in the host city of Tampa. Harram Temple No. 23, Noble Andrew R. Bennett, Illustrious Poten- tate, and Harram Court No. 96, Daughter Vickie Pittman, Illustrious Com- mandress, will serve as local hosts.
Various activities and charitable endeavors of the Court will be held during the week and will be led by Dt. Alisa J. Chisolm, 45th Impe- rial Commandress of the Im- perial Court Daughters.
The Imperial Court Daughters is a charitable and benevolent organization.
Specific program thrusts include education and schol- arship, health, mentoring our youth and senior citizens, book bags and school supplies for adopted schools, and the

youth.
In addition to volunteer
activities, financial donations are made annually to National Diabetes Initiative, College Fund/UNCF, scholarships, Health and Medical Research, American Cancer Society, Mental Retardation, NAACP, National Foundation (Birth Defects), HIV/AIDS Aware- ness and other civic and spe- cial interests.

Daughters’ events will be held in the Hilton Downtown and the Tampa Convention Center.

Hands Of Hope Sickle Cell Awareness Walk

Hands of Hope - Sickle Cell Awareness is having its 4th Annual Sickle Cell Awareness Walk on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Rowlett Park, 2401 E. Yukon Street, Tampa, (shelter #218). Registration is from8A.M.--8:30A.M.The walk will begin at 9 A. M.
The registration cost in- cludes a tee-shirt (L or XL only while supplies last). Walk up registration will be available. Early bird registration by mail at 4601 N. 36th Street, Tampa, FL, 33610; or online through Eventbrite at: https://www .eventbrite.com/e/hands-of- hope-sickle-cell-awareness- walk-tickets, or via pay-pal. Early bird registration ends on September 1, 2016. The regis- trant’s name will be in a draw- ing for $100.00 visa gift card, and other fun giveaways.
Vendors and food trucks will be on site. This is a pet- friendly event. There will be a prize for the best dressed pet (must have current tag and be on leash at all times).
Newly married couples are invited to join in for our ver- sion of the Newlywed Game. There will be free AIDS testing and Sickle Cell screening; music and entertainment will be provided by Deejay Smellsogood and DJ Party- time of Wreckin Da Game Ent.

GRITS Presents Check To ReachUp CEO
Girls Raised In The South (GRITS) presented a check in the amount of $500 to the CEO of ReachUp. The funds were the results of proceeds from the orga- nization’s “The Parade of Men Fashion Show Recog- nizing Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things” Charity Fundraiser. Members present for the check presentation from left were: Kathryn Ross, CaSandra Washington, President, GRITS; Lo Berry, CEO, ReachUp; Marilyn Washington and Patricia Williams.
