1.8 million votes were cast in an effort to bring a $25k Neighborhood Assist grant to their neighborhoods, and Tampa’s 2nd Chance Center 4 Boyz at Miles Elementary was among the Top 40 vote getters - winning a $25,000 grant to support mentoring in the Tampa community.

The 2nd Chance Center 4 Boyz community mentoring partnership program provides delinquency prevention and diversion program for at-risk boys. The mentoring program will serve Miles Elementary, where scores have required the school to lengthen their school day by an hour.
“Considering the high poverty rate and lack of re- sources, this $25,000 grant will have a far reaching impact on the outcomes not only for this school but for the stu- dents, their families, and the surrounding community as
well,” said Keith Babb, di- rector for 2nd Chance Center 4 Boyz.
“This grant will allow us to provide parent engagement workshops, character devel- opment groups for students, incentives for students to en- courage their academic progress, and peer to peer mentoring training. This will help us meet a number of unmet needs in this commu- nity.”
State Farm Neighborhood Assist is a crowd-sourced phil- anthropic program that em- powers communities to identify issues in their neigh- borhoods.
