  Popular Retired Educator Dies Following Illness
   USF Selects New Dean For College Of Education
 The University of South Florida has selected Dr. An- thony Rolle for the position of Dean of the College of Ed- ucation. The existence of the position has been controver- sial as the university planned to reorganize the college pro- gram. After much discussion, a search was launched to hire a new dean.
Dr. Rolle brings extensive experience to the role. He was previously on the faculty from 2010 to 2014.

A popular educator who touched the lives of children in Hillsborough County, passed away on May 30th. Mrs. Evora Pimento was 76-years-old.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 19th, 10:30 a.m., at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Tampa.
Mrs. Pimento died of complications attributed to the COVID-19 Virus. She was admitted to Advent Carroll- wood Hospital five days be- fore her death.
A native of Tampa, Mrs. Pimento was one of five chil- dren born to the union of the late Woodrow and Sarah Wynn. Her only brother died as a child. Her twin, Mrs. Flora Poitier, died January 24, 2020.
Mrs. Pimento attended the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County. After graduat- ing from Middleton High School, in 1962, she contin- ued her education at Bethune-Cookman College (now University).
She touched the lives of countless students during more than 30 years as an ed- ucator.
Mrs. Pimento was a life- long member of Mount Sinai AME Zion Church and was very active. After retiring, she volunteered her time and fo- cused on helping other women.
Having been a survivor of breast cancer (her twin sur- vived it as well), she concen- trated on helping to make other women aware of the disease.
Mrs. Pimento married her high school sweetheart, Alvin Pimento, and they are the parents of two daugh- ters, Mrs. Angela Full- wood and Mrs. Cherie Pimento-Bethune. The couple had been married nearly 54 years at the time of her death.
Mrs. Pimento also has a stepson, Alvin Pimento; sister, Mrs. Doretha Edge- comb; 9 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.

mento filled her calendar and stayed busy. In addition to volunteering, and dedicat- ing her time to her church and family, Mrs. Pimento also volunteered during elec- tions and going on cruises with her husband.
Her daughters said the couple did everything to- gether and their mother was planning to take another cruise when her health im- proved.
