LeBron James Shoots Down Hypothetical Question About Pacers’ Last Shot
LEBRON JAMES
LeBron James is not a huge fan of what-ifs.
James reacted negatively to a question after the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to escape with a 109-108 win over the In- diana Pacers in Game One of the Eastern Conference quar- terfinals Saturday when asked what would have happened if C. J. Miles’s last-second jumper had fallen.
“I don’t know. There’s no way to even answer that ques- tion,” James said. “If I didn’t get that block last year in the Finals, what happens?” James said. “If Kyrie (Irving) didn’t make the 3? If Steph (Curry) would have made the 3. There’s so many (hypotheti- cals).
James’s ultimate conclu- sion summed it up: “He missed, we won.”
Justin Jackson, Girlfriend Brooke Copeland Get Engaged
JUSTIN JACKSON AND BROOKE COPELAND
If Justin Jackson wants to have an even better month in May than the one he had in April, the North Carolina bas- ketball star is really going to have to get creative.
Jackson, who recently de- clared for the NBA Draft, helped lead the Tar Heels to a national championship less than two weeks ago. He might tell you that is the second-best thing that has happened to him this month, as Jackson and his girlfriend Brooke Copeland got engaged over the weekend.
He’s expected to go some- where near the top 10 in the draft. Copeland is no stranger to success on the bas- ketball court, either, as she just finished her junior season with the Florida Gators.

Isaiah Thomas Shines In Emotional 106-102 Game 1 Loss To Bulls On Easter
With even more weight on his shoulders than ever, Isa- iah Thomas mustered the courage to lead the Celtics in their playoff opener. But Jimmy Butler’s late domi- nance pushed the Chicago Bulls to a 106-102 win.
Thomas has built an infal- lible reputation of competi- tiveness and confidence, so his presence at the Garden on Easter Sunday seemed more inevitable than surprising.
The big shock came when Thomas opened up the game attacking the rim, get- ting to the line twice in the first four possessions. When he buried a three for his first field goal of the game, the arena erupted like he had just won the game.
Thomas scored 13 points (3/5 from deep) in the open- ing quarter in a performance only one Little Guy saw com- ing. Thomas was locked in at

both ends, defending Rajon Rondo with intensity and crashing the boards as best as he could.
The Celtics nearly com- pleted an epic comeback in the closing minutes, as Thomas scored five points over a seven-second span to bring it to 104-102 with seven seconds left. Thomas had buried a three, then Avery Bradley forced a turnover on the inbound that resulted in an infinitely long review be- fore giving the Celtics the ball back.
Was being acquitted in his double murder trial just the first in a series of legal victo- ries to come for Aaron Her- nandez? His new lawyer thinks so.
Jose Baez, who served as Hernandez’s attorney for the double murder trial, be- lieves Hernandez could eventually get out of prison.
“I think so, I think so,” Baez told TMZ when asked in an interview whether he thinks Hernandez will get out of prison. “I think that if we look back at some of the things that are available to appeal on that case, I think there’s a strong likelihood. And if he hires me for the sec- ond trial, we’re going to go all at it. Nothing would make me happier than to prove every-

body wrong.”
Baez is talking about the
possibility of representing Hernandez in his appeal of the Odin Lloyd conviction. Hernandez was convicted in 2015 of murdering Lloyd and received a life sentence without the possibility of pa- role. Baez thinks Hernan- dez could win an appeal of that conviction.
