Cam Newton Expecting Second Child
Jaguars Fire Coach Gus Bradley After 3-Plus Seasons, 14 Wins
GUS BRADLEY
The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired Gus Bradley, end- ing his tenure with the second- worst winning percentage of any NFL head coach who has coached at least 50 games.
Owner Shad Khan made the move on Sunday, just hours after Jaguars' 21-20 loss at Houston dropped the team to 2-12. Sunday's loss was the Jaguars' ninth in a row, which is the most in franchise history in a single season.
The team said Khan will have a statement shortly and GM Dave Caldwell will have a news conference on Monday afternoon to announce an in- terim coach for the final two games.
Bradley was 14-48 (.226) in three-plus seasons with the Jaguars. The only coach with a worse winning percentage is Bert Bell (.190), who also was the Philadelphia Eagles' owner.
Dwyane Wade Gives A Surprise Home Makeover To Family In Need
DWYANE WADE
Christmas arrived a week early for one family Saturday, including presents under the tree and ornaments hung by an NBA superstar.
The Bulls' Dwyane Wade joined in as a fleet of Santas gave one family's Austin home a complete makeover. The Wade's World Foundation, the Bulls and Roomplace all came together for the special holiday surprise.
"Families struggle all through the year, but when the holidays come it’s just a little extra, a lit- tle bit more when you don’t have what other kids have," Wade said. "[It's nice] to know that you’re enhancing some- one’s, you know, life, for the holidays."
"I’m just happy they’re happy. Everything this year’s been a sacrifice for them; I just completed nursing school so I’m very happy for them, and they deserve it, " said mom Monique Middleton.

CAM NEWTON
Carolina Panthers quarter- back Cam Newton and long- time girlfriend Kia Proctor are expecting their second child together "any day now," WCNC reported.
Newton's parents said the family is excited to welcome the new addition and that the couple hasn't settled on a name yet.
"It's going to be a giddy time of the year for us," Jackie Newton, Cam's mother, told WCNC. "I have no idea what this one is going to be called, but we will be happy."
Proctor gave birth to the couple's first son, Chosen, less than a year ago on Dec. 24, 2015.
Cam Newton said they in- tentionally chose a unique name for their firstborn.
"I wanted something that would be masculine, but yet unique," he said in January. "I'm not a big fan of juniors, and every person that I've had this conversation when I say, 'I don't want to have the pres- sure of him being a junior,' they reply, 'What ... do you think Chosen's going to bring?'"
Newton said last year that he was initially quiet about his son's birth because he "didn't want to create a distraction" for his teammates.
The 27-year-old NFL player was first spotted with Proc- tor at the Kentucky Derby in 2013. Procter, 28, has a daughter from a previous rela- tionship.
Union Reps LeBron James, Chris
Paul Could Be Big Winners
Through 'Over-38' Rule
LeBron James has been ahead of the curve on con- tract management for most of his career, and a provision he helped position himself for in the new collective bar- gaining agreement means his latest forward-looking ma- neuver could be worth almost $100 million.
The new deal, which still must be ratified by the own- ers and players' union, alters the "over-36 rule" to the "over-38" rule. Previously, teams could not sign players to four- or five-year contracts if the player turned 36 before Oct. 1 of one of the years of the deal. By moving the rule back two years, James is in position to sign a five-year contract in 2018 when he is 33 years old, sources told ESPN.
James' health, the overall player market and other fac- tors make it impossible to know what he might sign for in 2018, but projections show he could sign for up to $210 million if he stays with the Cleveland Cavaliers and signs for five years at the maxi- mum number. Before the rule change, he would have been able to sign for only three years and an estimated $90 million to $100 million less at age 33.
James said Friday that the rule change wasn't about his earning power.
"I'm too much of a present
LeBron James and Chris Paul are two potential bene- ficiaries of new CBA rules that would allow older play- ers to sign longer deals.
guy to worry about what can happen in the future. If I'm blessed and able and the game continues to bless me, then we'll cross that path when we get there," he said. "But there's guys in our league now that are 34, 35, 36 that have an opportunity to sign a longer-deal contract, so I think it's great for our league."
The rule change also could benefit Chris Paul, who would be eligible to sign a five-year contract with the LA Clippers for up to $210 mil- lion this summer. Paul would have been able to sign for four years under the cur- rent rules. It could be worth up to $50 million more to him, depending on how the deal gets put together.
Paul is the president of the players' union, and James is the vice president.
