Man Charged After Woman Reported Missing

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of an inmate. The inmate has been identified as 60-year-old Keith Williams.
On September 19, 2021, Williams suffered a med- ical episode at the Orient Road Jail and became unre- sponsive. He was trans- ported to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pro- nounced deceased.

St. Petersburg Police have arrested a man accused of a carjacking, attempted carjack- ing, and home invasion. He is also a suspect in other crimes in the area.
According to the St. Peters- burg Police Department, at 5:47 a.m. in St. Petersburg, Jamie David Smith, 32, al- legedly crashed the vehicle he was driving into the sign of Park Street Baptist Church, 3901 Park Street N.
A good Samaritan pulling a trailer with a boat, stopped to inquire if he was OK. At that point Smith carjacked the ve- hicle and drove off with the boat and trailer in tow. He later lost control, the boat and trailer detached, and he swerved to oncoming traffic.
Then, he tried to carjack another vehicle, pulling on the door handle, but was unsuccessful, police said.

After being surrounded by police, Smith was taken into custody without further inci- dent.
Smith was charged with hit and run, carjacking, at- tempted carjacking, and home invasion. Smith is also facing charges from Clearwater police for incidents before he drove to St. Pete.

Latonya Baxter throughout parts of Pensacola and into Al- abama, Pensacola police Chief Eric Randall said Monday. Her daughter reported her missing Sept. 12.
“We are really trying to nar- row this search effort down be- cause we really do have an expansive area to try and locate Ms. Baxter,” Randall said.
An arrest report said Bax- ter went missing Sept. 10, and the roommate, Giles Curt Jones, 38, was arrested four days later.
Man Arrested After Stabbing At Rays Game

Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that took place after the Tampa Bay Rays game Tuesday. The incident took place in the park- ing lot.
According to police, two fans became engaged in a ver- bal altercation while in parking lot 6 at Tropicana Field. It led to a physical altercation that then led to the suspect retrieving a knife from his car and stabbing the victim in the side. The vic- tim sustained non-life threaten- ing injuries.
The suspect attempted to leave the scene, however, baseball police traffic units were able to detain him.
Police arrested Alexander Garcia, 19, and charged him with aggravated battery.
