Keep It Moving
LAKELAND -- Our individual cities, local counties, the State of Florida and nations around the globe are now living through an unprecedented crisis due to the Coronavirus.
While we are all coping with not following our usual routines during COVID-19, it is vital to be healthy, physically fit, and main- tain physical distance. Although the fitness gyms are temporarily closed, there are alternative ways to stay healthy and physi- cally fit.
Being mindful of your eating habits is important, particularly during this time. Eating fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods, while drinking plenty of water are good choices. Eating good healthy foods help to ac- commodate the changes your body will be going through, which is imperative for your mental and physical well-being.
More importantly, just be- cause the fitness gyms are tem-
porarily closed does not mean you have to stop working out. For example, you can do fifty or more push-ups, sit-ups, high knee raises, jumping jacks and jump rope in an open space keeping your social distance or the comfort of your home. You can challenge yourself with cross-fit, yoga or you can do other physical fitness exercises to accommodate your health and range of motion needs.
These great calisthenic work- outs can increase weight loss, decrease high blood pressure, increase lung strength and im- prove your quality of life. More importantly, you will be physi- cally fit to manage your respon- sibilities on your job when you return to your place of work once our officials state the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have concluded. Let’s stay fo- cused and physically fit. Let’s keep it moving and workout.
