Police Respond To Footage Showing Miami Doctor Being Handcuffed At Home
SCREENSHOT OF THE INCIDENT
Man Arrested After Shooting Death Of Indianapolis Officer
An internal investigation has been launched into why an African American doctor known for testing the home- less for the Coronavirus was handcuffed outside his home by a police sergeant, Miami's police chief said Saturday.
Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina said in a video posted to social media Saturday that his agency doesn't condone or accept profiling of any kind. The chief made his remarks after video surfaced of Dr. Armen Henderson being handcuffed Friday outside his Flagami home.
Henderson, who works for the University of Miami Health System, was unloading items from a van when the ser- geant pulled up in his squad car, exchanged words with
Henderson and then hand- cuffed him. A home security camera captured the en- counter.
Henderson’s wife is seen later coming outside with what looks like an ID, and the offi- cer takes the cuffs off.
City of Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina says the officer stopped Henderson due to several complaints about ille- gal dumping in the neighbor- hood.
Colina says the incident is still being investigated.
Just a few weeks ago, NBC 6 did a story on Dr. Hender- son administering free COVID-19 testing for the homeless in Overtown.
NBC 6 reached out to Dr. Henderson, but he declined to comment on the incident.
INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of an Indianapolis officer on a do- mestic violence call, police said Friday.
Detectives arrested Elliahs Dorsey, 27, on preliminary charges of murder and at- tempted murder in the Thurs- day slaying of Officer Breann Leath, 24, police said. It wasn’t immediately known whether Dorsey had a lawyer who could comment.
A second woman also was shot, police said. That woman has not been identified.
Leath was among three offi- cers who responded to the call Thursday afternoon at an apart- ment on Indianapolis’ far east side, police said. As officers

LANSING, KS. — In- mates at a Kansas prison where at least 28 people have been sickened by the Coron- avirus rampaged through of- fices, breaking windows and setting small fires for several hours before the facility was secured, prison officials said Friday.
The disturbance involving about 20 men began about 3 p.m. Thursday in medium-se- curity cell house C of the Lans- ing Correctional Facility, said Rebecca Witte, spokes- woman for the Kansas Depart- ment of Corrections. The fires were set in a different living unit at the prison and did not involve the same inmates as the larger disturbance in cell
house C, she said.
The situation lasted until
around 11 p.m., when staff using tear gas were able to re- enter the cell house C and began taking inmates from their cells to another building on the grounds. Everyone was secured by 2 a.m. Friday, she said.
“We’ve launched an investi- gation into what took place and what can be one moving
forward to ensure that this doesn’t happen again,” Gov. Laura Kelly told reporters Friday. “But rest assured my administration will complete that work, hold those responsi- ble for the outbreak to account and put in place any additional steps that are necessary to en- sure that safety and order is maintained. We will learn from this.”
Two inmates sustained minor injuries, including one who received stitches for a cut and another who was treated after inhaling tear gas, Kelly said. Both were treated onsite. Staff members were able to get out of the building when the disturbance began and no staff was injured.
knocked on the door of the apartment, shots were fired through the structure, striking Leath, police said.
The other officers pulled Leath to a safe area and found
the second woman who had been shot, police said.
Officers located and appre- hended Dorsey, who was taken into custody without fur- ther incident, police said.

This Man Was Dragged Off A Pennsylvania
A man was physically re- moved from a SEPTA (South- eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) bus for not wearing a mask.
SEPTA operators had the right to refuse to transport pas- sengers that do not wear face masks, but after police forcibly removed a man from a bus on Friday morning, that rule has been rescinded.
The passenger was resisting, holding on as tight as he could, and refusing to get off. It took
