Local
Local Entertainer Prepares To Take Career To The Next Level
BY LEON B. CREWS Sentinel Staff Writer
Richard Woodbury
has never allowed anyone to distract him from reaching his goals.
Woodbury first set his sights on becoming an enter- tainer, then he started devel- oping talent through his “House of Woodbury” brand.
“Even with all of that going on, I still wanted to be an entertainer.
“I also want to be a suc- cessful entrepreneur, so I created a business plan and attended classes at Hillsbor- ough Community College’s entrepreneur’s Program.”
Woodbury said he was surprised there weren’t that many people attending the class.
“The information gained in that class is priceless. I can’t see anyone seriously thinking about entering cor- porate America without the knowledge gained from at- tending these classes.
“When I’ve completed this course, my plan is to get

everything in place to imme- diately start developing tal- ent, whether it be as a recording artist, or as a writer.”
Woodbury feels it’s im- portant to provide outlets for those people serious about success, and make them all understand that it takes a lot of hard work, and success isn’t gained overnight.
“I think the wrong image is being projected for suc- cessful recording artists. They give the impression it
all came easy, but when you step out there, you realize there’s nothing easy about any of it.
“I want to create a less stressful atmosphere for artist to work so they can focus on being creative, and not worry about all the out- side stuff going on.”
Woodbury said he’s preparing to embark on some travels that will take him into venues where he feels the right people will hear him.

The Crusade will take place at several local commu- nity parks, starting August, 2016 until December, 2016. The target areas for this movement will include Rob- les Park, Lake/29th Street, Nuccio, Tampa Park and Sul- phur Springs.
The first event is planned for the Robles Park Commu- nity Park, 3305 North Avon, on Saturday, August 13th from 10 a.m. to 1 p. m.

Anyone with questions about the Crusade, please contact Pastor Patrick Woodfork at (813) 944- 9469, or Elder David E. King, Sr. at (813) 493-3399.

“I have a vision of an inner city crusade with local ministries and organiza- tions,” said Rev. King.
“This great city we call Tampa has a heart, but if the heart is contaminated, the body is affected. The heart of this great city is the inner city, and we have to get to the root of the contamination.”
