Police Seek Help In Shooting That Left
Suspect Waits For Customers To Leave To Rob Store
Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are cur- rently searching for a robbery suspect. The robbery took place last Saturday at the Walgreens Store, 1860 E. Fowler Avenue.
According to police, shortly before 11 p.m., an unidentified Black man entered the business and waited for the customers in the store to leave. He then ap- proached the clerk and implied that he had a gun in his pocket and demanded that the clerk open the register.
The clerk refused, so the sus- pect went behind the counter and took 3 cartons of Newport Cigarettes before fleeing the store.
He was described as being an adult, approximate 5’8”, and was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, black gym shorts with a white stripe on the sides, white sneakers, and a black ball cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the sus- pect is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect involved in this case.

The Plant City Police De- partment is asking for help to locate the suspects involved in a shooting that took place ear- lier this month. Two people and a dog were shot during the incident.
According to police, Marshon Shoemake, 25, of Plant City, and a 14-year-old girl were sitting in a car in front of 1309 E. Tennessee Street around 6 p.m., on Feb- ruary 8th, when two men ap- proached them and forced them out of the vehicle and into the residence.
Once inside, a struggle took place. When the victims at- tempted to escape, both of them were shot, along with the pit bull puppy.
Police have learned that the men were traveling in a newer model, pearl white Cadillac CTS with matching pearl white rims.
Both suspects were de- scribed as Black, with thin to medium build, and wearing black hoodies and ski masks. They were armed with semi- auto handguns.
The third man, who re- mained in the car, was de- scribed as a chubby Black man with long dreads.
Shoemake and the teenager were transported to a local hospital, where the teenager was treated and re- leased. Shoemake was ad- mitted to the hospital. Police have not released the identity of the teenager because of her age.

Police have arrested a 20- year-old man and charged him with 3 counts of armed rob- bery. He is also suspected of committing a fourth robbery.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Trevor N. Gipson, of Val- rico, was arrested and charged with committing 3 of the 5 rob- beries committed during a 2- day period. The Temple Terrace Police Department is also expected to charge him with a robbery that took place in their jurisdiction.
Police Investigate String Of Robberies
Detectives believed the same person was responsible for two robberies on January 9th and January 18th. The robberies took place at the Speedway Gas Station, 13179 S. Highway 301. On Tuesday, at 3:23 a.m., po- lice were notified of a robbery at the same location, marking the 3rd time this year location had been robbed.
The suspect was described as a Black man, about 5’05” tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a green Nike sweatshirt, blue pants and black and white shoes. The sus- pect was armed with a short- barrel shotgun.
As police were conducting their investigation into the rob- bery that took place Tuesday, two other businesses were robbed within the hour.
At approximately 4:07 a.m., a man entered the 7-Eleven, 10616 McMullen Road. He was described as being a Black man with short dreads.
Less than 30 minutes later, at 4:25 a.m., Tuesday, an unidentified man, wearing a mask and gloves robbed the 7- Eleven at 16781 Fishhawk Road.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they were told that a Black man with short dreads entered the business, de- manded money, and fled the scene.
Deputies Stop Robbery Suspect
Deputies came into contact with Gipson at 2:26 a.m., Wednesday while operating radar on North Dale Mabry Highway. The deputies stopped him and cited him

with speeding and driving while his license was sus- pended without his knowledge.
The deputies reportedly smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. During the search, the deputies found an unloaded handgun and con- ducted a computer check on the gun and found it had not been reported stolen. Gipson admitted that the gun belonged to him and they returned it to him.
The deputies took his dri- ver’s license and told him to call someone to pick up and not to drive. The deputies left Gip- son in the parking lot where he had been stopped.
Suspect Arrested
Shortly after the deputies left Gipson, they were notified of a robbery at the Circle K, 6211 North Dale Mabry Highway. Based on the alert from the Cir- cle K, as well as information gathered with the traffic cita- tions, the deputies realized that Gipson fit the description of the robbery suspect.
Deputies observed a vehicle matching that of the vehicle used in the robbery at 3:45 a.m., in the area. When they at- tempted to stop the car, the driver accelerated and at- tempted to flee. Deputies fol- lowed the vehicle, and the driver stopped and exited it in front of 2825 Falling Leaves Drive. Gipson gave up to a K- 9 Unit without any further in- cidents.
He was charged with 3 counts of armed robbery, flee- ing and eluding law enforce- ment, and driving while his license was suspended.
Student Arrested For Bringing Machete To School
The St. Petersburg Police De- partment arrested an 18-year- old student and charged him with bringing a machete to school. The incident took place at Lakewood High School, 1400 54th Avenue, South on Wednesday.
According to police, Daquan Maybell allegedly concealed a 28-inch machete inside a trom- bone case in the band room. It was discovered when another student opened the case to use the instrument.
