  Seniors Participate In 10th Monthly Shuffleboard Tournament

Members of the local Shuffleboard Team came to- gether on September 27th, for the 10th Monthly Shuffle- board Competition. It was held at Ragan Park Commu- nity Center, 1200 E. Lake Av- enue, and was well attended.
During this competition, the first-place winner awards were presented to Ms. Katherine Palmer and Ms. Ada Luke. Ms. Gladys Foster and Ms. Quency Jefferson captured the sec- ond-place honors.
The competitors repre- sented the Lee Davis Seniors, the Ella Seniors, and the Jazzy Seniors.
The Director and Trainer of the Shuffleboard Team is Steve Scott. Each month, Scott secures gift cards for the winners of the competi- tion. This month, Natasha Hudson, of Integrity Insur- ance, was the sponsor.
Among the winners, par- ticipants and supporters in the Shuffleboard Competition this month included: Natasha Hudson, Carrie Rhanes, Sunday Bivens, Mary Wright, Irma Jack- son, Dorothy McCants, Deborah Humphrey, Francis Williams, Car- olyn Williams, Sandra Mills, and Janice White- head.
The teams consist of sen- ior citizens from throughout Hillsborough County who enjoy being active. Steve Scott, Director and Trainer, invites any seniors who wish to learn the game to contact him.
Scott teaches Shuffle- board on Mondays and Fri-
days from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Ragan Park Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Avenue. He also teaches the game at Cyrus Greene Community
Center on Thursday, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., and he holds training classes at Williams Park and Fair Oaks Community Centers.
On Tuesdays from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, Scott teaches the game at the Lee Davis Neighborhood Service Cen- ter.
