LeBron James has taken to social media to react to the Breonna Taylor grand jury case news that came out last Wednesday.
A grand jury in Louisville indicted one police officer for shooting into neighboring apartments. However, there were no officers charged for their roles in the death of Taylor.
Officer Brett Hankison was the one charged with three counts of wanton en- dangerment in the police raid that resulted in Tay- lor’s death on March 13.
Athletes across sports have taken to social media to express their frustration with the news. NBA players have been extremely outspoken inside the bubble, often com- menting on the Breonna Taylor case during inter- views.
LeBron reacted on Twit- ter to the news.
“I’ve been lost for words today! I’m devastated, hurt, sad, mad! We want Justice for Breonna yet justice was met for her neighbors apart- ment walls and not her beau- tiful life. Was I surprised at the verdict. Absolutely not
LEBRON JAMES
but damnit I was & still am hurt and heavy hearted! I send my love to Breonna mother, family and friends! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!!”
LeBron James Offering To Pay For Felons' Fines To Vote In Election
Los Angeles Lakers su- perstar LeBron James and the Florida Rights Restora- tion are reportedly sending text messages to residents for the purpose of forward- ing them to convicted felons.
James and the group are offering to pay for fines and fees so felons can vote for Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election.
Back in June, James launched a group called “More Than A Vote” to “fight Black voter suppression and excite minority voters across the nation.”
James sent out another message on Twitter retweet- ing “More Than A Vote” say- ing that, “This is SYSTEMIC RACISM and OPPRES- SION.”
In a Daily Wire story that was recently posted, James was quoted saying, “Black people in the community don’t believe that their vote matters.”
