Kodak Black Pleads With President Trump To Release Him From Prison
KODAK BLACK
Kodak Black is still fight- ing for his freedom and his legal team has now turned to president Donald Trump for help. Kodak’s lawyers ssent a petition to Trump asking for their client’s sentence to be cut immediately.
The Florida rapper was sen- tenced to 46 months behind bars in 2019 for allegedly falsi- fying documents when pur- chasing a firearm, which also came with a three-year super- vised release clause.
Kodak’s attorneys claim that the typical jail sentence for that exact crime is usually around 18 months. They be- lieve that Kodak has been un- fairly labeled a level four criminal when he should really be level 2.
Rapper FXXXXY Dead At 25
FXXXXY
Dallas-based rapper and producer FXXXXY has died.
The 25-year-old passed away last month from compli- cations while undergoing a rou- tine medical procedure.
"The family of Maudell Watkins, aka FXXXXY, aka FBG Fox, are totally shocked and devastated at his unex- pected and unforeseen pass- ing," his family said in a statement. "We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to his many friends and acquain- tances who've reached out to us in this extremely difficult time."
Last month, FXXXXY re- leased a brand-new single called "Paranoia / #1 Stunna." Just weeks ago he expressed on social media just how grateful he was for all of the support on- line and on the music charts.

Offset For ‘Attention’
Magazine’s 100 Most
Cardi B and Offset’s looming divorce has been in- ternet fodder since the Grammy Award-winning rap- per filed court docs at the Ful- ton County Superior Court last week. Despite the rumors surrounding reasons for the split, including Offset’s al- leged infidelity, the Invasion Of Privacy artist soon re- vealed she was simply tired of “arguing” as she shut the spec- ulation down.
Now, Cardi is being forced to address another rumor. On Tuesday (Septem- ber 22), she hopped on Insta- gram Live to squash the notion she filed for a “dissolu- tion of marriage” simply to promote her latest collabora- tive single “Me Gusta” with Anitta.
“I want to address another bulls***t that I heard,” she

said. “Another blogger claims that I am getting a divorce for attention. And it’s like, you think I’m going to pay a lawyer 20,000 fuc****g dol- lars?! They’re like, ‘I just find it so funny that Cardi is get- ting a divorce around this time she got a record called ‘Me Gusta’ out.’ First, of all, ‘Me Gusta’ is not even my record, it’s Anitta’s record. So I’m not even getting a huge piece of the song.”
Time Magazine revealed a portion of their 100 most in- fluential people of 2020 list on Tuesday (September 22), which includes a few artists from the music world such as The Weeknd and Megan Thee Stallion.
After a stellar 2019 where Meg rapidly rose up through the rap ranks, Meg contin- ued that momentum into 2020, as she currently sits atop the Billboard Hot 100 with an assist on Cardi B’s “WAP.”
“STILL I RISE,” the Hous- ton Hottie wrote. “YOUNG BLACK WOMAN FROM HOUSTON TEXAS ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGA- ZINE AS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PEO- PLE IN THE WORLD.”
During the Time100 spe- cial, Megan admitted she was confused by politicians reacting to “WAP.”
“When I saw all of the politicians in an uproar about mine and Cardi’s ‘WAP’, I was just really taken aback,” she said. “Like why is this your focus right now? If you have an issue with what I’m

saying don’t listen to it.” Megan’s tribute was written by actress Taraji P.
Henson.
“There was something about this woman. Once you discover her, you become a fan,” the actress wrote. “I don’t like to put the stigma of the word strong on Black women because I think it de- humanizes us, but she has strength—strength through vulnerability. She’s lost much of her family—her mother, her father, her grand- mother—yet she is the epit- ome of tenacity, of pulling herself up by her bootstraps. She was shot this summer, and still people tried to tear her down. But she’s out here still loving and being sweet.”
  From Marvin Gaye Hit
 'Let's Get It On'
Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" is considered one of the most iconic, sexiest songs of all time, remaining popular to this day.
The 1973 hit was co-written by Ed Townsend. In 2016, Townsend's family filed a lawsuit against pop music su- perstar Ed Sheeran, also repped by Sony, accusing the artist and Sony/Atlantic Records of copyright infringe- ment.
The lawsuit accused Sheeran of lifting the melody, harmony and rhythmic compo- nents from Gaye's track for Sheeran's hit, "Thinking Out Loud."
In front of Sony Records in Culver City Tuesday, Ed Townsend's daughter was joined by her attorney and music legend George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic to demand black artists get their fair share.
"These offenses aren't just taking place in the streets

against black individuals in this country. They're taking place in the boardrooms. They're taking place in meetings where there's no representation," said Keisha Rice, the attorney for Kathryn Townsend.
"Theft and bullying has been the only priority of the record labels' agenda. It stops today, Sony, Atlantic and all the rest of them. We're coming for our 40 acres and a mule plus and interest. And know that we're not going to be silent. It don't stop till my casket drop," said Kathryn Townsend.
