County Athletes Put Pen To Paper On National Signing Day
Athletes in Hillsborough County were quite busy Wednesday, National Signing Day around the nation. Most of the signees were for football, but there were also some who committed to schools in other sports: baseball, girls basketball, boys cross country/track, girls cross country/track, boys golf, rowing, boys and girls soc- cer, softball, girls swimming, boys and girls volleyball. With cameras from ESPN TV rolling and flashing and lots of family members on hand, Tampa Catholic High wide receiver Nate Craig- Myers (center) committed to the University of Auburn. He is joined by his brother, Josh Johnson and his mother Nikki Craig. Nate’s half brother, Jayvaughn Myers of Pasco High also signed with Auburn.
Blake High signees, seated: Isaiah Rodgers, University of Massachu- setts; Donte Glover, NW Missouri; Juwan Simmons, University of Pikeville; Marquis Daniel (Coffeyville Community College, SC); and standing, school officials, Melvin Williams (AP), Duane Thomas (Asst. Coach), and Adam Hill (Head Coach).
Tampa Bay Tech signees and the schools they’ve committed to are: Marchalo Judge, South Dakota; Isaiah Brown, Florida International; Elisha Holmes (soccer), Florida Atlantic; and QuJuan Spradley, Mis- sissippi Valley State.
Just before signing their commitment, these Hillsborough High stu- dents are: Rodnie Bernard (baseball), Florida Institute of Technology; Michael Hampton, University of South Florida; Nolan Johnson, New Mexico Military Institute; and Trinity Baptiste (girls basketball), Sam Houston State University.
Players from H. P. Plant High School held their 4 p. m. signing at One Buc Place: Scoop Bradshaw, Syracuse; Pat Cooper, Georgia Mili- tary; and Isaiah Ntukogu, Kentucky Wesleyan.
