President Obama Warns
Bloomberg Launches $100 Million Anti-Trump Ad Campaign
Democratic Candidates
Not To Go Too Far Left
Former New York City
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is shelling out $100 million for ads oppos- ing President Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 election as he considers run- ning for the Democratic nomination.
The online ads target vot- ers in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin ― all battleground states ― and began running Friday, according to multiple outlets. The spots will run through the end of the primary sea- son, regardless of whether

It’s the latest sign that the
billionaire is seriously weigh- ing a run. On Tuesday, he registered for the Arkansas primary, and the week be- fore, he registered for Al- abama’s ― both of which fall on Super Tuesday.
If he enters the race, Bloomberg reportedly plans to skip campaigning in early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire and focus instead on the 14 states holding primaries on that pivotal primary day, which will fall on March 3.
“There are a lot of persuad- able voters and there are a lot of democrats out there who just want to see things make sense. They just don’t want to see crazy stuff," he said.
Former President Barack Obama is speaking directly to the democratic candidates, warning them during a recent dinner with donors to avoid being too “extreme.”
Obama, who has generally refrained from commenting about the upcoming presiden- tial election, sent an apparent warning to democratic hope- fuls to not move too far to the left in their rhetoric or policies. He warned that the American voter doesn’t follow extremes on either side of the political spectrum.
“This is still a country that is less revolutionary than it is in- terested in improvement. They like seeing things improved. But the average American doesn’t think that we have to completely tear down the sys- tem and remake it,” Obama said at the dinner on Friday night. “And I think it’s impor- tant for us not to lose sight of that.”

sense. They just don’t want to see crazy stuff. They want to see things a little more fair, they want to see things a little more just. And how we ap- proach that I think will be im- portant,” he continued.
The president also used the moment to calm donors wor- ried about a competitive pri- mary that would only benefit President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.
“For those who get stressed about robust primaries, I just have to remind you that I had a very robust primary,” Obama said. “Not only did I win ulti- mately a remarkably tough and lengthy primary process with Hillary Clinton, but people forget that even before that we had a big field of really serious, accomplished people.”

Roger Stone Found Guilty Of Lying
To Congress To Protect Trump
Texas Appeals Court Halts Execution Of Rodney Reed
WASHINGTON – Roger Stone, an ally of President Donald Trump, was found guilty Friday of lying to Con- gress and obstructing an in- vestigation into Russia to protect Trump and his pres- idential campaign.
The jury's verdict came after about eight hours of de- liberation. Stone, a fixture in GOP politics who worked on campaigns stretching back to Richard Nixon's, now faces the possibility of prison.
He's the latest Trump ally to be found guilty in cases sprouting from a special counsel's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election.
The verdict, reached by a jury of nine women and three men, comes amid an im- peachment inquiry into alle-
The stay of execution comes less than a week before Reed was to be executed.
Rodney Reed, the prisoner facing death row in Texas, was granted a stay of execution on Friday, five days before he was scheduled to be put to death for a murder verdict he has al- ways claimed was wrong.
The Texas court of criminal appeals blocked the execution indefinitely and sent the case back to the trial court in Bas- trop County, where Reed was sentenced in 1998 for the mur- der of Stacey Stites, a woman he was dating, two years ear- lier.
In court, Reed’s lawyer’s ar- gued that fresh evidence indi- cating that he was innocent bolstered their argument to stop the execution.
“We are extremely relieved and thankful that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) has issued a stay of exe- cution for our client Rodney Reed,” said his attorney,

Witnesses testified in closed-door sessions on Capi- tol Hill that the White House dangled critical military aid and an official visit in order
to get Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination. Those hearings went public this week, when witnesses testified Wednes- day and Friday.
