TRAE YOUNG
Trae Young gave his dad a perfect Father’s Day gift on Sunday.
Young had 21 points and 10 assists and didn’t shoot well, but his Atlanta Hawks won Game 7 103-96 over the Philadelphia 76ers. Even though he was just 5-for-23 from the field, Young got great support from teammates like Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari. Huerter had 27 points and Gallinari scored 17 in the win.
After the Hawks won the game, Young found his dad Rayford and gave him his game-worn jersey.
Suns' James Jones Wins 2020-21 NBA Executive Of The Year Award
JAMES JONES
Phoenix Suns general man- ager James Jones has been named the NBA Executive of the Year for the 2020-21 sea- son, as announced by Suns gov- ernor Robert Sarver on Sunday prior to tip of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clip- pers.
The winner is selected through voting by executives from all 30 teams.
The Suns needed just 48 games this season to record their 34th win—something they needed all 73 games for last season. But that success is a mark of Jones' work over the past two seasons he has served as general manager in Phoenix.
When the former NBA star stepped into the role on a per- manent basis in April 2019, the Suns were coming off of a 19-63 season. Within two years, he had the team finishing at 51-21 and in their first playoff ap- pearance since 2009-10.
