Spurs Beat Timberwolves In OT To Clinch Playoff Spot

Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs didn't get much sleep after a long night's work Friday.
Leonard had 34 points and 10 rebounds and the Spurs overcame a listless start to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 97-90 in overtime Saturday night.
San Antonio wrapped up its 20th straight playoff spot with the victory. They won in over- time for the second straight night to extend their winning streak to seven and improve to 48-13.
Leonard had six points in overtime and played 44 min- utes after playing 40 minutes on Friday night in New Or- leans.
Junior Bantamweight Dylan Price, 18, Joins Mayweather Stable

Junior bantamweight prospect Dylan Price, whose boxing idol is Floyd May- weather, signed with his com- pany, Mayweather Promotions, on Wednesday.
"We couldn't be more pleased with Dylan Price," Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said in an- nouncing the signing. "He's young and exciting and has all the necessary tools to become a successful fighter. Now it's up to us to bring it all together."
The 18-year-old Price (1-0, 1 KO), who was born in Philadel- phia and lives in Sicklerville, New Jersey, made his profes- sional debut on Feb. 4 in Wil- son, North Carolina, and knocked out Malcolm Speight in the first round, needing only 61 seconds to do the job.
Price has been around box- ing his whole life. His father had a brief pro boxing career, and he currently manages fight- ers. And Price has two broth- ers who have boxed as amateurs.

Colin Kaepernick won't be kneeling during the na- tional anthem for the next NFL season. Sources told ESPN on Thursday that Kaepernick, who hasn't made his decision public yet, "no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created."
The QB is also said to be- lieve "the amount of national discussion on social inequal- ity -- as well as support from other athletes nationwide, in- cluding NFL and NBA players -- affirmed the message he was trying to deliver."

At the end of the 2016 NFL season, the 49ers recognized him by giving him the Len Eshmont Award, "best exem- plifies the inspirational and courageous play of Len Esh- mont, an original member of the 1946 49ers team." The award is the highest "in- house honor" a 49er can get.
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry moved into the top 10 for three-pointers made in NBA history Sunday against the New York Knicks.
Curry jumped ahead of Chauncey Billups, who wrapped up his NBA career with 1,830 three-pointers, per Basketball Reference.
The Warriors have 20 games remaining in the 2016- 17 season, and the two-time reigning MVP entered Sunday averaging 3.9 three-pointers a game. Even if he approaches that pace and appears in every game left in the regular season, he may have to wait until next year to climb into ninth place.

Steph Curry has used his star power to help Liberty University collect over

20,000 shoes for children in Africa.
Curry teamed up with Kick’n It for a Cause founder and LU alum Chris “COSeezy” Strachan for the “Kick’n It for A Cause Shoe Drive.”
The shoes donated will be sent to children in the Repub- lic of Congo, in hopes of re- ducing illnesses contacted through bare feet. The Center for Disease Control and Pre- vention cites the top causes of death in the DRC include di- arrheal diseases, lower respi- ratory infections, and malaria.
