Kevin Beckner May Community Hours
Hillsborough County Com- missioner Kevin Beckner, District 6, Countywide, is host- ing office hours in the commu- nity one day every month in locations around the county. These events provide residents the opportunity to meet with the Commissioner, one-on- one, to share ideas and voice concerns without having to travel to County Center in downtown Tampa.
No appointment is neces- sary and residents are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
May Community Office Hours:
Wednesday, May 13, 10 a. m. to noon, Seminole Heights Branch Li- brary, 4711 Central Avenue, Tampa.
Save The Date – Juneteenth Celebration
The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration, June 201, 2015, 2-5 p. m. The event will be held at the College Hill Conference Center, 1002 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
The free community event is for all community youth and adults.
Supporters of this event are: East Tampa Business Civic Assn., Hillsborough County Democratic Black Cau- cus, COACH Foundation, NAACP, Tampa Study Group, Federation of Families and Miracles Outreach.

USF, Moffitt To Host Workshop Addressing
Challenge Of Recruiting Minorities
The challenge of broaden- ing clinical research outreach to include racial and ethnic minorities will be tackled when key leaders from local African American and His- panic/Latino communities meet on Friday, April 24. Doc- tors, nurses and other clinical research professionals from University of South Florida and Moffitt Cancer Center will be in attendance.
The first Community Advo- cacy MATCHMAKING (CAM) luncheon and workshop will be held 11 a. m. – 1 p. m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church Family Life Center Gymnasium, 4811 Ehrlich Rd., Tampa (33624).
The event is sponsored by 50 Hoops TM and the National Physician and Family Referral (NPFR) Project, in partnership with Moffitt and USF Health.
KERRIE
This week’s Spotlight feature is Kerrie, and she’s confident she will have a successful future. Kerrie is a hard worker and will never quit until she reaches her goals of success and stability. Kerrie is not in- timidated by stumbling blocks along her path, and says those things only make her stronger. Congrat- ulations to Kerrie as this weeks’ Spotlight feature.
