RAY WILLIAMS
MR. BENJAMIN ‘BJ’ PITTMAN
Somewhere in God’s di- vine plan, it was His will that on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, his beloved Mr. Benjamin Pittman would rest in peace.
Benjamin “BJ” Pittman was born June 23, 1933, to the late Will and Luberda Pittman in Jackson County, FL. He was educated in Jackson County Public School System. He was bap- tized at an early age; and later joined Allen Temple, under the leadership of the late Rev. Nelson.
He met and married the late Annie L. Crews in June 1955; to this union 4 children were born. He worked 35 years as a Longshoreman with Local 1402 until retirement.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Will and Lu- berda; wife, Annie C. Pittman; daughter, Shirley P. Wise; and 6 beloved siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Wanda Johnson (Lester), Elaine Pittman (Tony), and Jacque- line (Jerome) Brown; grand- children, Teleica James, Jr., Jayla, and Jerome, Jr.: great grands, Rashonda, Omari, Kalisha, Malik, Telisha, James, II, Dior, and Jamarion; great great grands, Deon, Camille and Omari, Jr.; sisters, Willie P. Donaldson of Tampa, and Lillian Baker of Chester, VA; brother-in-law, Eugene Crews of Philadelphia, PA; sisters-in- law, Willie Ann Crews of Chip- ley, FL, and Nadine Crews of Philadelphia, PA; a special god-daughter, Sylvia James and family of Tampa; and nu- merous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday April 25, 2015, at 1 p. m. at Allen Tem- ple AME Church, 2101 Lowe St., Tampa, 33605, with the pastor, Rev. Green, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. The remains of Benjamin “BJ” Pittman will repose on Friday evening, April 24, 2015, from 6-8 p. m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p. m. The processional at the church will arrange at 12:45 p. m. on Saturday.

Mr. Benjamin F. Marcus of 311 East 120th Avenue, Tampa, 33617, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 25,2015,at2p.m.atSt.John Progressive Missionary Bap- tist Church, 2504 East Chipco Street, with Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Ceme- tery.
Mr. Benjamin F. Marcus was a native of Jackson, MS, and a resident of Tampa for 70 years.
He attended Middleton High School, Class of 1959. He was employed as a Long- shoreman at International Longshoremen’s Associa- tions.
Mr. Marcus was preceded in death by: his wife, Joyce Marcus; son, Benjamin (Zulu) Marcus; and grand- son, Lawerence Brown Mar- cus.
He leaves to cherish his memory: 6 loving sons, McKinley Marcus (Rejetter), Reginald Marcus of Durham, NC, Ronald Marcus, Gregory Marcus, Jeffrey Marcus (Ka- mara), and Gerald Marcus; 5 devoted daughters, Patrica Marcus-Clark, Debi Marcus- Baboolall (Edwin), Angela Marcus, Robin Marcus Bush (Calvin), and Felicia Marcus,

MR. HARRY WALTER PIERCE, JR.
Mr. Harry Walter Pierce, Jr. of 3501 E. 10th Avenue, passed away April 14, 2015, at Florida Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 2 p. m. at 34th Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th St., pastor, Reverend Dr. Thomas Scott, with Pastor Antonio Hawkins, officiating. Interment will be held in Darien, GA, on May 2, 2015.
Mr. Harry W. Pierce was a native of Darien, GA. and a resident of Tampa for 45 years. He graduated from Todd Grant High School, Class of 1956 in McIntosh County, GA; and he served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960.
He was employed as a Welder at Tampa Ship, until his retirement in 1995.
He loved fishing and cook- ing and playing dominoes. Throughout his community hewasthemantogotofor some finger-licking good bar- beque ribs and chicken.
On Thanksgiving morning it was nothing for him to have 5 or 6 turkeys lined up to be deep fried for family and friends. The corner of 10th Avenue and 35th Street is where he lived and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Harry Pierce, Sr.; mother and step-father, Albertha and Charlie Mitchell; brother, Vermil Pierce; and adopted sister, Vermill Brooks.
He will leave fond memo- ries with his wife, Florence, whom he shared a combined 43 years of love and marital bliss.
He will also leave fond memories with: sons, Harry, III (Rachelle), Apalachicola, FL, Anthony (Annie Louise), Tallahassee, FL, Michael (Joanne) Pierce, Clearwater, FL, Fred Sweet and Stevie (Tijuana) Baker; daughters, Harriet Pierce-Bell (Tyron), Vanessa (Joseph) Mitchell, and Iris Baker (Ronnie); grandchildren, Avis, Tony, Rakeem, Adrian, Antonio, Sharquina, Seirra, Raigene, Tyrone Jr., Tyra, Alexis, Aliyah and Amari, Stevie Jr.; great grandsons, Demarcus and Jaxson; mother-in-law, Hazel Anderson; brother-in- law, Thomas Palmer; sisters- in-law, Mary Thornton, Irene Green, Wylene (Ariel) Green, Consuelo Padilla, and Car- olyn Pierce, Darien, GA; and special nephew, Vermil Pierce, Jr., Darien, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Bruce M., Al, Watts, Bobby, Tiny, Big Man, Kevin, Marceluis, Bruce W., Gary, Ernest, Serge, Shirley and Mary; and fishing buddies, Hugh McNeal and Fox.
