Tampa Native Shares Book On ‘Issues Without Tissues’

Dr. Cassandra Williams
was born in Tampa. And, she lived here until about age 8. She and her family left Tampa in the late ’50s and headed north. Today, she is retired after 37 years in the Jersey City Public School System as a Secretary.
Dr. Williams was in Tampa a few weeks ago to at- tend the funeral of ‘her fa- vorite aunt,’ Mrs. Dorothy Jacobs. “I still have lots of family there, so I do make fre- quent trips back,” she said via phone.
Prior to her recent trip to Tampa, Dr. Williams had been in contact on several oc- casions with this writer about the book she released in No- vember 2017, Issues Without Tissues.’

In 1997, Dr. Williams be- came a licensed minister. In 2003, she was ordained as a minister. She became an Evangelist, Chaplain and even went into the prisons to meet with the inmates 1-on-1. She even became the chaplain at a hospital, but that was a differ- ent outreach
“A lot of their story was a part of my story,” she said, “things that I had endured. So I started sharing my story, and got speaking engagements, which led to a lot of people being delivered,” she said.
“My prayer to those who read this book is that my heartfelt wishes would be that it brings healing and deliver- ance to all.”
The book is on Amazon and Kindle and plans are being pursued for it to be published in Spanish and French.

In Issues Without Tissues, she shares some of her experi- ences, wisdom and practical advice. “My goal is for readers to, not only have first-hand knowledge of abuse from my
narrative, but also direct ac- cess to the healing of Christ,” Dr. Williams said. Through- out the book she shares Scrip- ture verses for references.

This Is the Beginning of a Much Needed Resource For the Ever Growing Autism Community
The Autism Awareness Shop Thrift Store and Voca- tional Training Center will have its Grand Opening on Saturday, April 28th from 10 AM to 6 PM. The location of the shop is the former Tampa Christian Thrift Store, 2908 W. Hillsborough Ave.
Jenifer Band is President of Autism Awareness Shop and an Autism parent. The shop will be providing vocational training, paid employment, and community integration for adults on the spectrum. There will also be Occupational Ther-
apy and Speech Therapy for in- dividuals with autism of all ages.
Cody McDaniel is the in- spiration behind the Autism Awareness Shop.
For the grand opening there will be a raffle with 5 lucky winners who will receive a $100 shopping spree in the thrift store. This will be along with a variety of other family friendly activities.
The Autism Awareness Shop is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and was founded with a mission to provide vo- cational training, employment and community integration for adults with autism as well as support for families affected by autism.
