Juneteenth Extravaganza To Span 2 Weeks
Beginning Saturday, June 10th at 9 a. m., a two-week Juneteenth Extravaganza will begin in the Tampa/Hillsbor- ough County area. This year, the area will be taking on a national focus.
The National Trusted Partners for Christ, a na- tional faith-based organiza- tion, Founder and President, Rev. Dr. Henry J. Lyons, will be opening up this year's festivities with a Juneteenth
Community Prayer Breakfast at New Salem Baptist Church, 8525 North 78th Street. Newly elected State Representative, Sean Shaw, will be the keynote speaker
on a program that will in- clude several community and faith-based partners. F a - cilitator, Dwight Bolden, who is a member of New Salem, said it's important and vital that the community endorse this event and pledge to be a vital part of future prayer breakfasts and faith- based events.
“We need help from the
community to make this event and others that will fol- low later successful. It's also vital that our elected officials and city and county leaders promote this event and help spread the word.”
Anyone interested in at- tending this historical event, and seeking more informa- tion, should call (813) 906- 4620, or (863) 660-0064.

A spokesman for that company said the employee was fired sev-
eral months ago and is the subject of another ongoing investigation, the article said.
Earlier this week, members of the National International Long- shoremen’s Association were in Tampa and held a closed door meeting with James Harrell, President of ILA Local 1402, his Vice President, Leon Chandler and members of ILA 1402 board after the story aired.
When contacted by the Sentinel, Harrell said he could not comment on the investigation because it is still ongoing. However, he did say he would comment once the investigation is over.
The Federal Department of Labor has also launched an investi- gation into the allegations.
But according to sources, Mr. Harrell and Local 1402 have no direct contact with the payroll system. However, the allegations are that Local 1402 had knowledge of the alleged payments.
