Bill Maher Will Be On Air Friday As Usual And Ice Cube Is One Of His Guests
HBO’s Real Time with host Bill Maher will air as sched- uled on Friday, a rep for HBO told Deadline.
Maher and HBO found themselves in hot water last Friday night when Maher used a racial slur during his opening interview with Ne- braska Sen. Ben Sasse.
Maher apologized, and HBO on Saturday morning called the comment “com- pletely inexcusable and taste- less” as well as “deeply offensive,” announcing its re- moval “from any subsequent airings of the show.”
In the controversial ex- change with Sasse on Real Time, Maher seemed taken aback when the congressman invited him to come to his state and “work in the fields with us.”
Bill Maher will host a panel to discuss the controversial issue he has put himself front and center into.
Said Maher: “Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house ni...” then used the word that drew gasps from the audi- ence.
A representative for Ice Cube has confirmed that the musician will not be cancel- ing his appearance for this
