Nicki Minaj Promises ‘Classic Hip Hop’ On Next Project
It has been roughly two and a half years since Nicki Minaj released a studio album — but there has been a ton of activity since then.
That was a topic of discus- sion when Nicki called into Eminem’s SiriusXM chan- nel Shade 45 and spoke to DJ Whoo Kid on his Whooly- wood Shuffle show. After the megastar rapper copped to having not much to prove aside from winning some more, she revealed her inner psyche tells her she owes it to her fans to release more music. In the form of an album.
“So that’s next on my

bucket list. To deliver my fourth album and make sure it’s a classic Hip Hop album that people will never forget.”
Kodak Black Released And Returns To His Music
R&B Singer Mario Mourns His Mom
R&B singer Mario took to Instagram to mourn the loss of his mother, Shawntia Hardaway.
When Mario’s music ca- reer was just starting to take off, his mother was struggling with a drug addiction to heroin, and he worked hard to get her clean again, insist- ing that she could not travel with him until she was drug- free. Eventually, she did check herself into a treatment facility in Los Angeles.
In 2008, Mario started a charity for the children of drug addicts, which he de- scribed as a personal cause.
However, in 2010, Mario was arrested for assault after he allegedly shoved his mother. Responding police

found several broken items and furniture in the home, though Hardaway dropped the charges against her son.
They moved apart, and the separation has only helped their relationship.
Kodak Black has been re- leased after violating his house arrest order.
Kodak Black’s latest prison stint came to an end on Monday (June 5) when he was released from Broward County Jail.
The 19-year-old rapper quickly embraced his freedom by connecting with his follow- ers on Instagram for a livestream. He wasted zero time getting back to the music. The talented teen also up- loaded a preview of some new music.
Kodak will look to continue building the seemingly un- stoppable momentum he’s gathered since breaking out with songs like “SKRT” and “No Flockin.” Since then, his star’s only grown—even if he’s been behind bars for a good portion of that time. Painting Pictures moved an impressive 71,000 album equivalent units in just its first week of release, and “Tunnel Vision” has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 15 weeks now.

Gucci Mane Gets First Platinum Plaque
Gucci Mane has a lot to cele- brate.
Gucci Mane has been rap- ping since the ’90s, and though he got hot in the mid- 2000s, he never achieved plat- inum status with any of his own records.
Now, that’s changed. Tues- day, (June 6), Guwop an- nounced that his collaboration with Drake, called “Both,” has officially sold a million units. It’s his first song as a lead artist to reach that mark. Metro Boomin and South- side produced the track.
