Detective Chosen As ‘Outstanding Employee Of The Year’

Last week, the Pinellas Park Police Department an- nounced its “Employee Of The Year.” City officials joined members of the Pinel- las Park Rotary Club to pres- ent the award.
Of these five awardees,
Detective Roxanne Hunt
was the recipient of the Out- standing City Employee of the Year.
Detective Hunt began her career at the Pinellas Park Police Department in 2001. She has worked in Patrol and in the Narcotics Investigation Unit. Currently, she serves as the agency's police recruiter, field training officer and in- structor.
Doug Lewis, City Man- ager of Pinellas Park said, “It was an honor to be part of this special recognition ceremony where all of the 2016 award recipients were acknowledged for their hard work. It was also a very pleasant surprise when Detective Roxanne Hunt was awarded Outstanding City Employee of the Year.
“She is a great asset to this City and I certainly appreciate her dedication to furthering public safety within this com- munity."
Earlier this year, the City recognized the winners of the 2016 Firefighter of the Year, Paramedic of the Year, Police Officer of the Year, Public Works Employee of the Year and the Professional Services Employee of the Year which are as follows: Professional Services Employee of the Year, Minh Huynh; Human Re- sources Analyst Public Works Employee of the Year, Jeff Coker; Senior Streets Main- tenance Operator Firefighter of the Year, Burt Williams; Paramedic of the Year, and Derek Twadowski.
Tampa Links Donate Gowns To Clearwater

The Tampa Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, held its ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ event earlier in the year and some gowns were left.
The Tampa Links donated the remaining gowns to Belle of the Ball in Clearwater, Saturday, February 25. Links Patsy Greene, the chair of the gown giveaway and Patricia Miles delivered the gowns to Clearwater. Links Frances and Stephanie Sykes helped prepare and load the gowns up for de- livery.
