Halle Berry To Now Pay $8,000 In Monthly Child Support After Payment Reduction
Jay-Z Applauds New York’s
For nearly seven years now, Halle Berry was ordered by the court to pay $16,000 a month in child support to ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. But as of March 1, 2021, Berry’s pay- ments have been cut in half, ac- cording to The Blast.
The former couple shares a daughter, 13-year old Nahla. Following their breakup in 2010, Aubry, a Canadian model, and Berry suffered a rocky relation- ship with one another as they figured out co-parenting and custody agreements.
This past February, Berry turned heads on Twitter when she posted a graphic with the words– “Women don’t owe you s**t.”According to the Daily Beast, a judge blocked Berry from relocating to France with their daughter in 2012, and later
The “Monster’s Ball” actress continued, “...I understand some parents (man or woman) may need help, but I also feel that in these modern times, both men and women have the responsi- bility to financially take care of their children, and work hard and make every effort to do so.”
During their 2014 custody set- tlement, Berry was not only or- dered to pay nearly $200K a year in child support but also to cough up $115,000 in retroactive pay, money for their daughter’s tuition and $300,000 to Aubry’s attorneys in court costs. Ouch!
Per their new agreement, Berry will continue to pay their daughter’s tuition and will have to pay additional support if her yearly income exceeds $1.95 mil- lion, The Blast reported.

The superstar rapper/mogul dropped $15.4 million for the home in Hidden Hills -- the high-profile gated community that's home to much of the Kar- dashian crew -- according to sources familiar with the deal.

Berry addressed rumors in her comment section that she can’t keep a man, and discussed her large monthly child support payment, writing “it takes great strength eryday to pay it. And [by the way] it’s wrong and it’s extortion.”
Following New York’s pas- sage of the Marijuana Legisla- tion and Taxation Act Wednesday, Jay-Z applauded his home state for legalizing weed.
“The news of cannabis le- galization in New York is in- credibly exciting,” Jay-Z said in a statement to the Grio Fri- day.
“It represents a long over- due opportunity for New York- ers, for the cannabis industry, and for social equity and social justice. I’ve seen firsthand the harm inflicted for generations against black and minority communities by the war on drugs right here in New York.”
Upon signing the Marijuana Legislation and Taxation Act into law, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated, “The bill creates automatic ex- pungement of previous mari- juana convictions that would now be legal. This is a historic day.”

Jay-Z was then named Chief Visionary Officer of the California-based Parent Com- pany, which now will set its sights on the Empire State. “Today, I’m proud to see my home state join the Parent Company in paving the way for a thriving and equitable cannabis market,” Jay-Z added in his statement.

Marijuana Legalization:
Hip-hop fans from near and far have been on edge on Sat- urday following news of DMX’s drug overdose and hospitalization early in the morning. TMZ confirmed that the rapper suffered the over- dose Friday night at his home. He was then taken to a White Plains, New York hospital where he was listed in “grave condition” at the facility’s crit- ical care unit. It was also re- ported that he suffered a heart attack due to the overdose.
For much of the day, up- dates about his health were nonexistent until his lawyer, Murray Richman, spoke to New York’s Pix11 News where

he delivered somewhat of a re- lieving update on the rapper’s condition.
“He’s in the hospital as a re- sult of a heart attack,” Rich- man said during a zoom call
with Pix11 News. “He has been taken off [the] life support sys- tem and he’s been breathing on his own.”
While this may be comfort- ing news for the time being, Richman added that they are not in the clear with the rapper just yet.
“We are concerned,” he said. “It would be disingenu- ous of me to suggest that I’m not a worried man at this par- ticular point.” During their broadcast, Pix11 News said that DMX’s lawyer would not confirmed whether or not the rapper’s hospitalization and heart attack was the result of a drug overdose.
