CITY OF TAMPA
PUBLIC HEARING ON REGIONAL ASSESSMENT OF FAIR HOUSING
The City of Tampa invites you to attend a Public Hearing and provide feedback on a regional Assessment of Fair Housing. The Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH) is a legal requirement that the City must complete in order to continue receiving federal housing and community development funding from the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Specifically, the AFH is an analysis undertaken pursuant to 24 CFR Part 5.154 that includes an analysis of fair housing data, an assessment of fair housing issues and contributing factors, and an identification of fair housing priorities and goals specific to the Hillsborough County region. Fair housing issues include segregation, racially or ethnically concentrated areas of poverty, disparities in access to opportunity for protected classes, and disproportionate housing needs for any protected class within the region.
A public hearing on the Regional AFH has been scheduled for:
Thursday, March 23, 2017 starting at 5:30 P.M.
Council Chambers
315 East Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33602
The hearing will be held before the City of Tampa City Council as a part of the regular meeting of the City Council. The primary purpose of the Public Hearing is to obtain views on the AFH-related data and affirmatively furthering fair housing in the City’s housing and community development programs. The hearing will also open the public display period for the proposed AFH.

A draft copy of the AFH will be available for public inspection and comment for 30 days beginning on March 23, 2017 and ending April 23, 2017.
