FAMU Recognizes Donors
The City of Haines City and Haines City Fire De- partment are proud to welcome Roderick Moore as Deputy Fire Chief.
Moore comes to Haines
City with more than three decades' worth of experience in the fire service. Moore's career began in 1988, when he was hired by the Jack- sonville Fire Rescue Depart- ment. He ascended through the ranks and was ultimately appointed as Compliance Of- ficer and Assistant Chief of Professional Standards by then Mayor Alvin Brown.
"This is a tremendous op- portunity and I look forward to serving this community. The Haines City Fire Depart- ment has been a forward- thinking, community-minded agency with a dedicated staff and I'm proud to be part of this team," Moore said.
Moore brings many tech- nical competences to the po- sition, including Incident Command capability, Fire Suppression, Hazardous Ma- terials, and Fire Training In- structor experience. Having served as the Grant Manager for the Jacksonville Fire Res- cue Department, he is also proficient in grant writing.

Moore holds a bachelor's degree from Flagler College and a master's degree from Barry University - both in Public Administration. In ad- dition to his degrees, Moore has earned a number of other prestigious designations from the Jacksonville Fire Training Academy. He received his Paramedic Licensure from Florida Community College of Jacksonville.

"With Chief Murphy and Deputy Chief Moore having a diverse range of skills and more than 60 com- bined years of experience, the Haines City Fire Department is in great hands and has a very bright future."
Florida A&M University recently recognized its Significant Donors ($100,000 level). The recognition was held at FAMU at the Eternal Flame. Among those recognized for their con- tributions to the university were: Wendell Duggins, President, representing FAMU Alumni Association, Tampa Chapter; Atty. Arthenia Joyner, Mrs. Duggins and Bishop A. J. Richard- son.
