Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. sponsors the Miss Teenage Tampa Scholar- ship Pageant annually as one of the major fundraiser to sup- port scholarship and service in the Hillsborough County com- munity. Each year, a member of the sorority is selected as the Miss Teenage Tampa Ap- preciation Honoree because of her dedication, commitment, and service to the Pageant and to the Sorority and commu- nity.
The 2016 Miss Teenage Tampa honoree is Mrs. Di- anna Allen-Quin, a long- time member of the chapter. Mrs. Allen-Quin served as President of Gamma Theta Omega Chapter from 2010- 2011.
Her current committee in- volvement includes serving on the President’s Council, Grad- uate Advisor Council, Budget and Finance, Standards, Con-

stitution and By-laws, and the Educational Advancement Foundation.
Her service with the Miss Teenage Tampa Scholarship Pageant committee spans more than 20 years of work on the Advisory Committee, Pro- duction Committee, and pro- viding Cultural Enrichment
and Public Speaking sessions for the contestants.
Mrs. Allen-Quin was married to the late Wayne “Anthony” Quin, Ph.D. and is the mother of twins, Wayne, II, and Brianna. She is the daughter of sorority member, Ann Porter, and a member of Beulah Baptist In- stitutional Church. She is also a member of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. and The Links, Inc.
Gamma Theta Omega is hosting a luncheon in honor of Mrs. Allen-Quin on April 2, 2016, at the InterContinental Hotel, 4860 West Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa. The event is scheduled for 11 a. m. – 1 p. m.
Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.ak- agto.com and at the AKA House, 412 E. 7th Avenue on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 6 – 8 p. m. The community is wel- come and invited to attend.
