Man Arrested For Stealing BMW He Tried To Buy With Food Stamp Card
Authorities in Stuart, Florida arrested a man they said stole a BMW after trying to buy it with a food stamp debit card.
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Nicholas Jackson, 36, was arrested last Friday and charged with grand theft auto.
Deputies said Jackson was turned away from a Pompano Beach dealership after he tried to buy a $60,000 BMW using his EBT card and a credit card.
However, deputies said Jackson returned the next night and stole the car along with keys to 60 other vehicles.

Man Charged In Fatal Shooting
Suspect Sought In Shooting
At 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, Tampa Police, responding to a 9-1-1 call, arrived at 1434 Es- telle Street at the Tampa Park Apartments. On arrival, they found a man in the parking lot conscious, but suffering from extreme blood loss.
Police said Julius Holmes, 45, heard a knock at the door, and when he went to open the door, he was shot in his left arm near his elbow.
A neighbor called 9-1-1 and several units arrived on the scene.
Police said Holmes was not cooperating with the investiga- tion and did not reveal why he was shot. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening in- juries.
Managers at the complex said the area where the shooting took place has been a problem for a long time, and manage- ment has asked police for assis- tance in dealing with the problem.

is listed in the Palm River area. The apartment where the shooting occurred was being rented to Clifford Roberts, who wasn’t home at the time of
the incident.
Arrest records indicate
Holmes was released from Federal Prison, September 4, 2014 after serving 12 years on a cocaine charge.

Officer Escapes Serious Injury In Wrong-Way Accident
Suspect In Zephyrhills Robberies Arrested
This is a surveillance photo of a man suspected of robbing a Mobil Station.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a suspect seen in surveillance photos.
On March 20th at 11:50 p. m., deputies said a man en- tered the Mobil Station, 4002 Orient Road. He allegedly armed himself with a handgun and confronted the clerk. He then jumped over the counter, pointed the gun at the clerk, and collected several items, placing them into a bag. He then fled the store with the property.
The suspect is described as wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the letters UMC displayed, jeans and black shoes with white trim. He also wore a hood and concealed his face.

This is the vehicle Officer Nick Dittman was driving when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction in Dade City.
This vehicle, driven by Ms. Louise Valentine, was traveling in the wrong-way on County Road 52 when it was involved in a three-car accident.
The Manatee County Sher- iff’s Office reports that a Pal- metto man has been arrested for a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month.
Xavier Seabrooks, 19, has been charged with murder in the March 4th death of Linzell Feagin, Jr., 32.
Deputies said Feagin was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1700 block of U. S. 41 North in Palmetto. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Authorities believe the shoot- ing was drug related.
Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested In Indiana
A police officer escaped se- rious injury after being hit by a wrong-way driver Tuesday. This was the third time in two weeks in which a wrong-way driver came in contact with po- lice.
According to the Temple Terrace Police Department, Officer Nick Dittman was on his way home from firearms training shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday. When he reached the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Carmen Avenue in Dade City, he encountered a Hyundai Sonata traveling east- bound in the westbound lane of County Road 52.
Officer Dittman, 31, ob- served the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction and acti- vated his emergency lights to alert other drivers. His vehicle was struck on the front passen- ger side.
The Sonata, driven by Ms. Louise Tobbie Valentine, 63, of Dade City, spun around after striking the police vehicle and struck another vehicle driven by Ms. Charity Cha- gro, 20, of Dade City.
After the accident, Officer Dittman was rendered first aid at the scene until the arrival
of emergency personnel. He was later treated from his in- juries at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Tampa, and released.
Ms. Chagro was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Ms. Valentine was airlifted to Bayonet Point Hospital in serious condition. No other in- formation about her condition has been released.
The accident is being inves- tigated by the Florida Highway Patrol. No charges had been filed, however charges are pending.
Driver Arrested

avoided an accident with a 35- year-old woman who was driv- ing in the wrong direction on I-275.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Officer Van Treese observed a 2010 Honda traveling southbound in the northbound lane. He took evasive action and conducted a traffic stop after the car exited the Interstate.
Ms. Aja S. Cancela, of Riverview, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
MERLIN HOWARD
Authorities report that a man wanted in Hillsborough County in connection with two 2015 robberies was arrested in central Indiana.
Crime Stoppers reports that information from an anony- mous tip led to the arrest of Nathaniel Philippe, 19, on March 17th.
Philippe was being sought in connection with a pair of armed robberies that took place October 31st and Novem- ber 11, 2015. Deputies reported that Philippe and a co-defen- dant are accused of creating and posting Craigslist ads for vehicles for sale in order to lure prospective victims.
In each case, investigators said a woman responding to

the ads met with Philippe and another person and was robbed at gunpoint.
Philippe is being held at the Davies County Jail.
A man suspected in robberies at a Zephyrhills bank and two businesses this weekend was ap- prehended Monday night.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Of- fice reports that Merlin Howard, 33, was charged with three counts of robbery and re- mains in jail with his bail set at $300,000.
Howard was the suspect in a robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank in Zephyrhills last Friday, March 18th. On Saturday, March 19th, deputies said Howard was inside a cab in the area of 6th Avenue and Arm- strong Street and allegedly tried to seal cash from the cab driver. When he wasn’t successful, deputies said he ran from the cab. Later that same day, Howard reportedly entered a convenience store at 36952 State Road 54 where he de- manded cigarettes from the store’s clerk. He then reportedly went next door to a Metro PCS and demanded money, deputies said.
After the robberies, Howard fled in a vehicle.
