Giants Trade Jason Pierre- Paul To The Buccaneers
Bucs Sign Ryan Jensen To Four-Year Deal
Jason Pierre-Paul has played his final snap with the New York Giants.
On Thursday, Pierre- Paul has been traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Giants will receive a 2018 third-round pick (No. 69 overall) from the Buccaneers and a fourth-round pick (No. 108 overall). The Giants will also send back their 2018 fourth-round pick (No. 102 overall).
Most importantly, the Gi- ants will be getting Pierre- Paul's massive salary off the
with the Giants on March 18, 2017.
Before the trade, Pierre- Paul was set to count $17.5 million against the Giants' 2018 salary cap. This would have accounted for nearly 10 percent of the Giants' entire salary cap figure. Releasing Pierre-Paul would have re- sulted in over $5 million in dead salary cap space so that was never an option for the Giants. Pierre-Paul's salary cap number was set to rise to just under $20 million in 2019.
Center Ryan Jensen has agreed to a four-year deal with the Tampa Bay Bucca- neers, his agent, Mike Mc- Cartney announced. Jensen will get $42 million deal, including $22 million guaranteed.
The Bucs now can move Ali Marpet back to guard.
The Ravens drafted Jensen in the sixth round in 2013. He started all 16 games at center for Baltimore last season.

Marshawn Lynch is going to get an opportunity to prove that he still has enough left in the tank to be an important piece of Jon Gruden’s offense, but the veteran running back may have to take slightly less money to do it.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Lynch has agreed to a restructured contract with the Raiders that could amount to a slight pay cut but converts more of the 31-year-old’s deal to guaranteed money.

Free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor looks to be deciding between two main suitors.
Pryor’s choices are, at least for the moment, down to the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.
This rules out the Cleve- land Browns, who have been tossed about in the last couple days, but don’t really seem to have much interest in aggres- sively pushing to meet Pryor’s asking price.

interest has remained high. Russell Wilson is said to want him badly in Seattle, which may offer a more ap- pealing landing spot than the rebuilding Jets would.
CLINTON MCDONALD
In the second wave of free agency, the Denver Broncos added depth on their defen- sive line and added competi- tion on special teams.
The team signed Tampa Bay Buccaneers Clinton Mc- Donald, a 6-foot-2, 297- pound veteran defensive tackle, to a two-year contract, and signed kicker Taylor Bertolet and long snapper Christian Kuntz after host- ing both on a tryout Wednes- day.
McDonald spent the last four years with the Bucca- neers after playing three pre- vious seasons with the Seahawks and one with the Bengals. A former seventh- round pick out of Memphis, where he was a teammate of Broncos guard Ron Leary, McDonald played 14 games last season in Tampa (three starts) and had 29 tackles (18 solo), five sacks, 10 quarter- back hits and a pass-breakup. In his eight NFL seasons Mc- Donald has notched 240 tackles, 19 sacks, 44 quarter- back hits, two interceptions, six pass-breakups and five fumble recoveries.

being better for Lynch if he has a good season. He’s still being paid very well, which indicates Gruden expects him to be a significant part of the offense in 2018.
Bridgewater ‘Not
 Comfortable’ Talking About
  Status Of His Injured Knee
It has been well over a year since Teddy Bridgewater suffered a devastating knee in- jury that cost him the better part of the past two seasons, but the quarterback was cleared by doctors with the Minnesota Vikings and passed his physical with the New York Jets. Still, he is not willing to declare himself fully healthy.
In a conference call with reporters on Wednesday, Bridgewater was asked if he envisions having any limita- tions when spring practices begin. He stopped short of saying his knee injury is a thing of the past.
“That’s something I’m not comfortable talking about right now,” Bridgewater said, “I’m pretty sure that’ll be a discussion that I have with the training staff. We’ll come up with a plan moving for- ward.”
TEDDY BRIDGEWATER
As Mehta notes, Bridge- water is not a lock to make the Jets’ final roster. He signed a one-year, $6 million deal that includes just $500,000 guaranteed, and New York also re-signed Josh McCown and has traded up to the No. 3 overall pick in the draft — presumably to draft a quarterback. Despite that, Bridgewater said he still has full confidence in his abilities and “can’t wait” to get to work.
